believe it or not there r many people out there that prefer the e46 over the e90 and since the e49 production is nearing an end and most of the cars r spoken for, its not that easy to get a good deal on an e46, espeically if its one that has to be found, infact im not sure if people r getting any money off of the m3 right now

My dad was in this boat and we are going to pick up a last run E46 cabrio in about two weeks (on the boat). He special ordered silver gray/w gray and blue soft top. First, he wanted a convert. Second, he wanted a BMW. Third, he couldn't wait (Lexus SC400 just cracked 100K). Fourth, who knows when the new hardtop convert will be out. Who knows pricing. Who wants to be the first one experimenting with this new-fangled top. He got $500 over invoice (mats tossed in); accessories at internal cost/labor. He's happy. He'll drive it for a couple and let them work the bugs out and probably improve the new cabrio after its initial introduction. I'd say that's not a bad move. He'll not be the first one on the block with the new one but he'll own a tried and true example and be able to move into the new body-style once it has been tested.

I just got an e90 325i for my brother this afternoon at $200 over the invoice and the guy tried to sell the e46 ci with 76 miles on it at the invoice price. ~ 3 weeks ago, I bought a Honda Rigdeline RT with running boards and alarm installed for my dad at $1977 below the invoice ($23.5k). Yesterday, I got a quote for my friend for a base Chrysler PT Cruiser (4-door, AT and AC) at $3500 below the invoice ($12,500). Maybe something you don't know, but some internet managers at dealers in Bay Area sell cars at the crazy price...I'm not sure if they don't meet the quota or sale volume or maybe they already made money on the % dealer hold back. For my e90, I paid ~ $500 over the invoice last year in May. |

You got a great car man, the E46 is awesome. I do not know why you guys are trying to soil his happy experience. I dont know what business you guys are in, but dealerships need to make money. It is also human nature to take better care of the people that take care of you. Let them make some money and you'll get the best service you could ever imagine. You guys disgust me with this below invoice on BMW talk. If I hear anyone compare a BMW to a PT Cruiser or Honda Ridgeline again I am going to lose it.
