Looking for tune

I probably have made a few post about this before but it has been a little while so here it is again. I have a 2008 e92 335i with a manual transmission. Im looking for a tune. Id prefer open source and I was wondering whats out there. All Im really looking for is to add a little power with out having to do to much else to the car currently. I plan on other modifications down the road, but want to start with a tune. Thanks!

Also what would be best to do to the car after a tune?

MHD.
Address plugs/coils/injectors prior to flashing is my advice.

Agree with above. Smartest thing would be to just go ahead and replace plugs and coils.

Otherwise, try MHD Stage 1 v7.1. If you get misfires change all plugs. If misfires persist on more than 1 cylinder, I'd go ahead and replace all coils. If it's only on 1 cylinder you may be able to get away with only changing that coil for awhile, but sooner than later you will need to replace the remaining coils.

I changed coils 1 at a time on 2 cylinders. Soon after the misfires returned so I went ahead and replaced the other 4 coils. 10,000+ miles later on Stage 2+ and still no misfires 🤞

If the above fails then it may be injector related. Good luck!

MHD. plugs, coils, and walnut blast if it a has a been a while since your last. easy way to wake up your car. At least swap to an aftermarket charge pipe if you have not already, its an easy weak point to eliminate.

MHD, no brainer, and I've used them all going back to JB3's.

Ha! But seriously, on a FBO or less, MHD and Cobb will perform similarly. I had Cobb, switched to MHD and I like its functions better, but the tune really depends mostly on your tuner!!

Yep, then I would look at vacuum hoses to sels and diverters and injs if nearing 100K. And start logging Low pressure pump. Watch for oil leaks especially around Oil filter housing PLan on plugs every 20K and dont hammer on it until oil temps are 170 and it will live a while longer prob..

100% agreed, don't understand why Cobb gets so much hate. I've been Cobb tuned since I first tuned my car & I couldn't be happier. Protunes help more also.
