Injectors covered in oil

Hello everyone. I've been dealing with diagnosing and changing my injectors lately. Today I decided to change bank 2 with 3 new index 12's. When I pulled the old injectors I found them soaked in oil (weird smelling). What could this be? Will my new injectors just get soaked too? Will this affect performance?

2008 BMW 335xi coupe
130k miles
New valve cover gasket
New sparkplugs

Leaking valve cover? Spilled oil? Clean and inspect time!

I replaced the valve cover a month ago. I nevet cleaned the oil left around the injectors.. that might explain it. I know I am not actively losing oil because i haven't dropped a single bit in my level.

VCG leak %100. Replaced doesn't always result in no leak. Unfortunately. Clean. Put dye in the oil. Check for leaks.

As the others have said VCG leak.
