It's called mindless advertising bot. Cluttering up our forum with garbage. This "guy" has 0 posts and comes on here to dig up a 10 year old thread and give us a tip on where to buy diamonds. Someone ban this "guy."

Lets come a bit back to topic: Does your funnier looking halfs are still wearing their rings or did someone split up meanwhile?
I go ahead: Mine broke her ring at doing some mechanic work at her bike, repair is possible but wouldnt last much long, isnt worth the price for her.

Very good advice here.
The ring is supposed to be a symbol of what you're proposing to her: marriage. I'll give you the best rule of thumb for this, and you can close the thread: By the time you're ready to propose, you'll know exactly what type of ring would look good on her, and she would like (based on her tastes, other jewelry, etc.) e.g. you wouldn't buy a giant band and giant rock for a girl that is tiny and wears tiny earrings, tiny rings, and so forth. You wouldn't buy yellow gold to a girl that wears mostly silver etc. You buy a ring you're comfortable paying, and that you think looks good. She'll be super happy because the ring is a symbol. If she's not, dump her ass and run for the hills because she's not into you, she's into what your cash can buy. Ciao |

Here's my view. It's almost impossible to predict the kind of ring she would like.
I bought my ring in the UK, then took my wife to New York via cruise ship (it was amazing, not just for the older folk) Took her up empire state (i know cliche) - popped the question. I kept asking her if the ring is ok and finally she told me few days later she's not a huge fan. No biggey, i took her to the Macey's & got her the ring she wanted. Which coincidentally was slightly cheaper then the one i got her. Few days later came home and returned the ring i got her. Happy days - but then a few months later she lost the 2nd ring anyway! PAIN By then it was approaching wedding time, so we both went and chose our rings. Lessons learned 1) If it is really a surprise, it is impossible to predict type of ring she would like. 2) Don't be offended if she doesn't like it. 3) Always insure your rings! |

Ringsize doesnt matter for me and if for her, she would be the wrong one.
A little status might be ok but it should not blow your account. At the beginning of considering to ask her if she would I was thinking about what she would like and yeah, wifey is also a practical worker, biker and sporty so top thing was a ring which is carryable at all situations. Your classy US-style with a big stone onto a ring was out, so I had found a very fine one with plain surface inserted stones and really simple but elegant and that was 100% her style. She loved it and gave me never the feeling that it was too low for the purpose.

She initially just wanted a small metal band with no stones. I had to talk her "up"'into a ring that looks like it's for a woman and not a little girl. Too small and plain of a ring would reflect poorly on me! |

Haha, cool. Nah, she was absolutely surprised as I got on my knees after our long term of relation and never thought about marriage, that mades it double exiting.
Found a product picture of her ring, white gold, 3 brilliants w/00.75ct. That has done the trick, another advantage for her is the everyday wear it ability. To be honest: I'd never thought about a too small and poor ring whats this says about me...maybe this is also a matter of the social environment

I am too poor to give my wife a small ring.
When she picks up her starbucks, I don't wait the baristas to think we're actually saving up all week to pay for her venti frappes. |

Timely thread. I am in the market for an engagement ring. I'd like to stay within a budget of $10-$13k out the door.
Is this even possible at a place like Tiffany's? I know absolutely nothing about jewelry, rings, or diamonds. I do know Tiffany's has a huge markup. Kinda like BMW's |

What do you do with the ring in a divorce situation? Sell it off?
My buddy is divorcing his b*tch of a wife after a year. Poor guy was young and naive and got trapped by a gold digging psycho. |
