Hey guys, hopefully not gonna sound stupid here haha
I swear we, in Aus, used RON rating for fuel... but here i am on the United & BP websites and they're all saying 98 octane, not 98RON... I've been running the 98RON/93octane MHD map under the impression that we used RON... Then people say in aus Octane rating on pumps is '98RON'... dafaq, is MHD messing with my head with OCT/RON haha Can someone clear this up please haha https://www.unitedpetroleum.com.au/fuel/premium-98/ 'Premium 98 is a high performance unleaded fuel with an octane rating of 98' https://www.bp.com/en_au/australia/p...-unleaded.html 'BP Ultimate Unleaded is our most advanced petrol with a minimum octane number of 98' |

RON (Research Octane Number) is used in Australian fuel standards. Those websites are .au domains and are using RON.
MON (Motor Octane Number) is determined using a different testing method. AKI (Anti Knock Index) or PON (Pump Octane Number) is used in North America. It is derived mathematically (RON + MON)/2 eg. RON 98 + MON 88 /2 = AKI 93 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane...,_MON,_and_AKI |
