Its possible your dealer removed the plastic upon delivery inspection. Honestly I don't know if it was factory but sure seems like it.

I'll look into the other points you mentioned and let you know. Thanks!

That sensor is so ugly and destroys the symmetry of the front end. It looks like a giant zit and it's gotta go. Honestly it is a feature I will never use. Regular cruise control is good enough for me, and I rarely use that on my daily driver anyway. Purely cosmetic reason for removing it. I will post a photo before and after.

Looks cool like a radar or missle eye. Looks military grade and adds to the character of a high tech bmw. If people ask just say its for tracking down other bmws to race its all good

The ACC would be very simple to put back on. I'll hang onto the part. I already bought the full grill to replace it.

I also checked the BMW site. Zero open recalls. The Carfax doesn't show any recalls being done. The first listing on the Carfax is title issued in March 2007 at 25 miles. Second entry is a dealership service in August 2019 at 2050 miles. Had 4 more dealership visits since then that just say vehicle serviced/maintenance inspection. No details given anywhere. I do plan to visit a dealer and call BMW USA to see if I can dig up any information or history.

The fuel pump does prime when I unlock the car. Production date on mine was is Feb. 2007.

If you think replacing a grill is hacking on it, well I don't know what to say. Or you mean the maintenance part (oil change, cooling flush, brake fluid flush, filter change)? Give me a break man...I'm going to keep this car in top notch condition.

If you don’t me asking, what did you pay for this beauty?

Seriously though—incredible find. I don’t hate you; I’m just extremely jealous!

No comment on the grill situation... Since you’re keeping the original parts, seems like it’ll be easy enough to switch back. But you can’t seriously think he’s suggesting you NOT maintain the vehicle... and that it’ll somehow be worth more because of that .

I wanted one to fix up too, I settled for 2 one at 186k and one 206k miles, it's been a lot of fixing lol.

I dig your sense of style, the cruise sensor and the double hump on the dash are the only blemishes on an otherwise jaw dropping aesthetic, this thing is gorgeous.

Listen to this advice. It will only go up in value if you leave it relatively stock, especially the engine and refrain from tacky exterior mods. Maybe some rims but keep the stock ones

Beat me to it, that’s what I wanted to say as well. This is nearly a museum piece, I’d enjoy it stock which is plenty fun anyway and pick another example to modify and beat on.

before tuning it. Try using one hand to turn the wheel while pressing the gas pedal ALL THE WAY DOWN. If u cant control that till the next gear and no need for tune

I hope OP reconsiders and leaves this car stock. That engine bay looks so darn clean and untouched, would be a shame to start modifiying it. Everything should be OEM spec on this car and only a real car enthusiast would understand that.

Very clean car. Cars can have paint restoration done and gaskets/engine work done. The interior is another story. It looks so fresh.
Mod it if you’d like. 400 whp is achievable pretty easy.
Or park it in a garage and resell it years later for
More than you paid, but I’m sure you bought it to enjoy it, so do so!

Tips for happy MHD flashing:

1. Get a decent battery charger and keep it hooked up while flashing.
2. Don't use the bimmergeeks cable to flash. Buy the MHD WiFi dongle. It's a bazillion times faster.
3. Read a bunch/watch videos. Mine wasn't successful on first flash. Background knowledge helped.

This is exactly why I wanted this platform...fun to drive and capable of big horsepower. I did not seek out a show car or a barn car and I certainly don't buy cars as investments to sit and collect dust. However you all have tempted me to stash it or sell for a profit lol.

I know you probably think I'm being a dick about it. No one around here uses and enjoys his cars more than me and I'm as much a car enthusiast and a BMW enthusiast as anyone. I've passed on several BMWs that were of the same stature your '07 is. One was just a few years ago. It was an unmolested 1982 E21 320i. It had 55,000 miles on it. It was in New Jersey near Philly a 3.5 hour drive away from me. The car was pristine, originally owned by a VW mechanic west of Philly who must have wiped down the body with baby diapers after every drive. The 2nd owner who was selling it to me, was a car guy, just not a Bimmerhead. He bought it in 2016 from the original owner simply because of the magnificent condition it was in. He want $13,000. I've stated on E90 Post many times the E21 320i is one of my most desired of BMWs. I lost my (driving BMW) virginity to a 1976 320i.

I passed on it (this still hurts to tell). I passed on it because I drive about 35,000 miles per year just to commute to my office. Even if I drive a car just once a week on my commute, it adds up to 8,100 miles per year. If I let a car sit around my house, which is in the woods, the mice move in. Mice can tear the shit out of a car in one day. To reduce such carnage, I have to move the cars around. As you know letting cars sit is not good for them, so you have to exercise them. And in late 2018, when the E21 was in my sights, I already had 3 BMWs to drive. And my "weekend" car is a pickup truck. I try not to drive much on every weekend. And I only have covered storage for 3 cars. I have a shop of course, to keep them maintained, but I keep my tractor parked in the lift bay during the week.

The 320i I was going to buy, ended up on BAT and sold for $25,000 in April 2019. The seller I was going to buy it from sold it to a dude from North Carolina (the original person before me that was interested in it) and that guy flipped it on BAT.

The second car was a 1989 E30 M3 Convertible. I'll try not to make this story too long, but it was 47,000-mile pristine example, imported by my friend Phil in January 2000. Phil was the first importer of a E30 M3 Cabrio into the US (his plate read "Nur Ein"). Phil got hooked on BMWs once he drove my '89 E30 and bought a 1990 E30 318i as a result. Somewhere around 2015 or so, Phil decided he wanted a Ferrari, so he gave me first dibs on the E30 M3. He'd have let me buy it for what he had in it, which was about $30K. It had around 57,000 on it by then. But for the reasons state above, I had to pass on it, on top of knowing Phil could get at least $50K for it. Phil ended up selling the M3 to the owner of EAG for his private collection.

So again I passed on a pristine BMW, considering a 23,000-mile example of a Euro E30 M3 Sport Evolution recently sold on BAT for $250K, not buying Phil's Cabrio (also with the Sport Evolution package), was also painful, seriously painful as it turned out.

Lastly, my Z4 3.0si Coupe. One of just 829 made in the specs my example has. I bought it in December 2014 with just 23,000 miles on it. Again, a pristine example, black over black extended leather w/M-sport seats. I bought it to give my E90 some breathing room; and I had a new car itch going on. One day in March 2015, just as I was contemplating why I was racking up miles on such a rare car... BAM! I got rear ended. $11.5K later the Z4 was as good as new, and the accident made my mind up for me. The Z4 now sits just past 109,000 miles. I drive it just once a week, but not when salt is on the road.

So when I see your '07 335i with just 3,300 miles on it and you want to hack on it, respectfully I get it, but there are thousands of 335i to hack on. What you have is a museum piece and lucky as shit to find it; congrats on that. I get it you want to drive and enjoy the car; I would too, but leave it stock. The car deserves it. I'd get more joy out of knowing I'm driving a completely stock 2007 335i with less than 5,000 miles on it in 2021, than upping the HP to 400.

My perspective, just trying to explain it to you.
I read the whole thing .

Wow, you passed up some good cars because of your daily commute.

I hardly drive my 72k mile E90 . It’s no museum piece but I’d say other than the 2 dents, lightly curbed wheels and, a few touched-up rock chips(about 3-4) it’s pretty close .

But to OP, if that 335 were mine, man I’d only drive it during the weekends in the summer and buy another 335 I can play with.

That 335 will be worth a lot of money in a few years. If kept stock and not driven much.

What a shame to take a pristine example of the E92 and turn it into a beater.

Jp. But, your post and looking at the condition of your E93 makes me want to take even more care of my E90 (everyone knows I already take good care of it )

It's an e92. If the right e93 come up, I could be tempted to sell this.

Are you guys going to give me shit for replacing the plastic mickey mouse coolant flange too? Installing a charge pipe that won't crack under stock boost pressure?

This car is my baby and I'm going to take great care of it. I just don't get the hate for wanting to squeeze a little more power while maintaining it at the same time. It could easily be reverted to stock.

A wood coolant flange would be better

Hey man, more power but leaving the exterior stock and interior I don’t think it would hurry.

A beater? Really?

My goal is not to beat the car and drive aggressively. My goal is to experience the specialness of the n54 and this platform. My goal is to keep it in pristine condition, low mileage, and top notch condition.

This car is a pure driver's car. It wants to be driven. This is my 2nd car. I have a daily driver Audi with 115k miles that no one can believe is as old as it is, because I take such good care of it. I will continue to drive the Audi daily and park the BMW for weekend cruises.

Any light mods I do can easily be reverted to stock. Easily.

No plans for exterior mods other than that ugly ACC sensor! Is this really going to destroy the originality of the car? NO!

Only interior mod idea I have is to put an Android screen since that iDrive is horrible. I'll make sure this can be reverted to stock if I ever do it. I'm months away from doing anything like this. It will remain stock in the short term.

Unless you consider an aluminum mickey mouse flange a mod, cause that shit is getting changed ASAP.
