Sorry I missed this earlier.

At the time, I did not know FRMPL2 = FRM1.

Anyway, the WinKPF seemed to work fine.

Thanks

So the WinKFP went to plan.

When following the linked guide I get this error...

I believe you will need to update your VO to reflect a newer date (e.g., 0309). No need to actually write the VO to the FRM/CAS, just change out the dates, then code the FRM using the expert mode profile.

I should have been clear. That link was just a rough guide re the procedure.

I guess in NCS you selected NFRM?

NFRM is a term used for FRM2 and FRM3. As you have FRM1 stick to 'FRM' when using NCS.

When reading the VO from the CAS I can see CAS, FRM, NFRM in the dropdown, I obviously select CAS.

When I hit F4, process ECU, I dont seen FRM, only NFRM.

Did your car come with FRM2? And you replaced it with FRM1?

TBH, I don't know. I know my FRM failed (rear indicators not working on turn, but working on hazards). I ordered a new FRM from the dealer against my VIN and fitted it.

Would it be worth refitting the old FRM and checking to see if it is FRM_70 or FRM_87 in the INPA UIS?

What are the functional differences between FRM1 and 2.

Ok,

Well you had FRM1 from factory it seems. 0307 was the change over date for lots of things. I'm surprised you ever had FRM1 to be honest.

My bet is that because you got a new FRM from dealer and not a used one which most people do, the coding index on your new FRM is newer than your daten files.

Try to find very recent daten files and update your setup using BMW Coding Tool...

What the part number of the FRM the dealer sent you. Can you take a photo of the label?

Also, when you flashed it with a manual ZB number. Do you remember what that number was?

That what would have been written when you flashed it. It not the physical part number which I'm after.

My concern is that when you flashed the FRM first you said you manually selected a ZB number from a list from the FRM1 ecu family. Or did I misunderstand.

You could try the date change I suppose. You change 0307 in the FA to 1207 for example. But don't FA WRITE it! Go back and try SG_CODERIEN again...

New FRM..

I only ever attempted to flash with 9128184.

Anyway. I refitted the old FRM and coded it to FRM1. It all works fine and I have PDC and power windows back!

61359166711 is not even listed on real oem.

61359128184 is listed for non-adaptive headlights up to 0307.
61359390491 is listed for non-adaptive headlights from 0307.

Nice work.

Strange though. I think maybe because 0307 was the change over date. NCS auto thinks you have FRM 2 (NFRM) so selects those datens. If you used a profile which manually gave you options to use the FRM1 datens I think it would have worked. That or change date to 0606 or something earlier to force NCS to think you have FRM1. Just guessing though really.

Incidentally, not that I have the stomach for more messing right now, how do you go about changing the VO date?

FRM has started playing up again. I keep losing rear indicators when using the turn signal, but they work fine on the hazards.

If I go with the Sensible suggestion of changing the VO date, how would I go about doing that?

Thanks
