I was at a dealership a month ago and I saw the vehicle ordering guide. It says EOP 07/13. I'm either going to sale or trade in my 335i so I can order a 335is soon.

Thats if it comes as DCT. That why I said the M4 would be, indirectly speaking, the successory of the 335is, as the 355is will be the M4 challenger on the streets

OOps that is what I mean, its the coupe version of the M3. So it isn't the predecessor to the 335is

What about 135is? Doesnt it also come with N54... Still no answer on how many are built.. I am wondering if BMWNA will share that info.. I will try tomorrow
I believe the 135is has the n55 engine.

I was wondering what differs from a regular i to the is model? Is what someone posted earlier that it has the n55 vs the n54? Any other differences?

Thanks,
Giuseppe

Most recent info on the M4 is a 3.0 liter 416BHP labeled S55 with a new cylinder head & higher boost. Weight down 300lbs over the M3. As with all info of this type its subject to change but Cammo versions of the car are now running around Europe so things should start to firm up.

S55 engine - is it N55 tuned version?

With a different cylinder head I think BMW would classify it as a new version not a tuned N55. Don't know what else might be in the engine.

That was going to be my next question, I guess will see... Curious to see if BMW egineering kept the internals same as N55??

Great info! Thanks for sharing. Makes the car feel even more special knowing how rare it is.

Incidentally, I saw a black 335is today during lunch. Looked pretty sweet! Only the 5th or 6th 335is I have ever seen.

There were a few threads a little while ago that talked about the differences between the two.

Off the top of my head:

N54 vs. N55 - N54 in the 335is makes 320 hp with a max 370 lb-ft of torque with an overboost feature.

Besides that the is gets:
- more engine cooling hardware
- different wheels
- different front and rear bumpers
- different interior design highlights

Not sure what else. I know the suspension is the same.

I have seen a bunch of them down here in SoCal and they do look nicer than my 335i

Main differences between the 135IS & 335IS: The motor is an N55 with rated at 320hp & 317ftlbs. Does not have the 370ftplbs "overboost" feature. It does have the big fan extra coolant radiator badging & the other goodies the 335is has. It performs stock pretty much the same as the 335is version because its lighter.

Tuned the N54 should be better with equal mods.
