Pre Lci Halogen to Pre Lci Xenon

So my passenger headlight broke and I have seen a couple amazing deals on Xenon headlights around me. I have read some stuff on a foot module and Ncs expert but I have no idea what that stuff is. Should I get something else from the car being parted out in order for it to be compatible with my car? Will the headlights work if not coded?

To do it properly you need:

1. XENON headlights
2. FRM2 or 3 module. If the lights are xenon only then you can use an FRM2 or 3 XE or MAX BROSE. If they are AHL Xenon you'll need an AHL or MAX BROSE FRM. Used module is fine if decided to your car.
3. Auto levelling sensors and wiring harness.
4. Coding

You can skip the auto levelling and code it out. However the lights will always be pointed down at lowest to avoid blinding traffic. It's not really a problem.

I converted. Didn't do it "properly" per say but I got it to work without problems.

Here's what I did
1: Acquired headlights
2: Wired just the low beams. Required one wire tap inside the headlight.
3: Had the car coded.

Worked fine for the time I had it. I didn't bother with wiring the high beams in the xenons but they still worked on the inner lights which didn't help too much because the inner lights were only designed for DRL but it was still better than nothing.

Having the FRM2 or 3 module just gives you the ability to have welcome lights if I'm not mistaken so it's not a big deal to have it or not.

Also the headlights will not go to the lowest position if you don't have the auto leveling. They will just stay in the last position they were left at. Still perfectly functional.

Ok. Glad it's working.

Just beware, you still have a halogen FRM installed.

The PWM voltage supplied by the FRM is still set to halogen specs. You should really swap it out for a Xenon compatible one as your bulbs / ballasts might have a shortened life expectancy now.
