Pretty sure Vince, PeterY, Tim M and others are all working together on stuff after PeterY figured out how to get the DME to accept M3 coding

I'm not smart enough to be part of the inner circle but I'm happy to benefit from their genius

oh and I'm still reading the thread Socks

I'm not smart enough to be part of the inner circle but I'm happy to benefit from their genius
Didn't mention changing the BIN from IJE0S to IKM0S but from Socks description maybe that's what VTL has done

I'll have to check if Tim's able to do it for me , or send me some instructions and files

I have noticed that my car seems to be more responsive to throttle inputs, but not sure that the change is big enough for what PeteY and Socks described

Tim has sent DrJ an updated tune to try out (still waiting to hear how it went) so I am sure he can help you out Hops

Wasn't really ready to announce this but yes its the same tables.

I did not flash IKM0S to Phils car, I have discovered the tables that control this. Have been driving it on my IJE0S rom for the past week and have flashed it to Phils I8A0S rom.

Long story short, the N54 engine is wayy more responsive than you might have thought, and the throttle response is amazing now

Still needs testing as it seems not to work with the standard throttle map (standard throttle map sucks anyway). It throws torque monitoring errors. I have been driving it with a custom linear throttle (not the MHD one) which works great.

Well, that is amazing!
I'd definitely be interested in trying these changes, although, I'm 6AT.

Thanks @[vtl] I'll be harrassing @[T1M] to see if he can do the same for my tune, sounds awesome

sorry didn't mean to blow the lid, Socks fault for mentioning the improved throttle response right after PeteY posted his IKM0S results

exciting news though

Great work gents. I take it that these throttle response tables are different from the sport mode ones on n54 DCTs?
I know i can feel a dramatic difference but i thought that was what everyone had? :

Headlight mod continued

Installed these yesterday
Hopefully last time these will go in
Got the pure white and amber indicator functions working

On the Bavgruppe the pure white colour is activated by having a power supply to the white wire, which overrides the coloured ring function
Tried hooking this up to the parking/fog light wiring so it can be controlled in the cabin. It works but will be a pain to run the car with parking lights on all the time for white rings. If the parking lights are not on the rings default to the last colour selected on the Hao Deng app

The amber indicator function is activated by connecting the yellow wire to the indicator circuit. Did it while I had the headlight open the other day

Not very E92 like, but i like it

Mod 110 - GPS tracker

After a few FB posts about people having their cars ripped off, I decided to look into installing a GPS tracker. Wont stop the car from being stolen, but at least you can track them while they are cruising around in your ride

Plenty of options out on the market, many require the battery to be recharged every couple of weeks and/or have a annual subscription etc

Vin Wayne Kerr put me onto this product, iDrive Livetrack (thanks mate)
The thing I really like about this device, is it hard wired (so no charging) no subscription fees (data use only) and everything is controlled from a easy to use app

I contacted James at Street Image Autotek, who was great at explaining how the unit and the app worked. He came over to my place and installed the unit which took him about an hour. A quick lesson on how to use the app and everything was up and running.

Later that evening I gave the unit a test to see if the alarms worked and ran into a problem. I gave James a call and he was very happy to help sort out the problem . It was 9 pm at night when I called him and he spent the next hour figuring out the issue, he called me back at 10 pm with the solution.... I had turned on a setting that should not have been on (my bad). Most vendors would have just said Ill call you back in the morning, but not James. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was working as it should. Wish more people had his commitment to customer service..... Top bloke, great product, highly recommended !!!!

Mod 111 - German Auto Solutions (GAS) Front Control Arm Monoball Bushings

DRJ organised a group buy back in Feb 2018, so these have been sitting around for a while, waiting to be installed

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...light=monoball

Construction is solid and quality looks top notch

Vince pressed the monoballs into the control arms, bending the top of his 12T press in the process

Steering feels a lot tighter and more direct with these installed

Pics below

Mod 112 - M3 steering rack

Big thanks to Vince for installing the M3 steering rack this weekend
Steering is very precise and meaty feel
Still have some work to mod a heat shield that is touching the downpipe, and install the servo assist to make the steering lighter at low speeds
I have noodle arms, so girly light steering for the parking will be great

Pics below

Hey Socket , mind share the dimension of the pipe, joints, and the air filter? I am thinking building a similar setup for my car.

Yeah, I often ignore those reverse parking sensors as well. I mean all that beeping drives you crazy!

In fact my new car has a button to turn the beeping off.

No that's bad luck but happens to the best of us at least once in a while!

Socks have you thought of putting a bit of grey tint over your rear lights? Would go great with the grey car.

Watched this guy doing an R8 and results are impressive:
