CCC to CiC Upgrade

So I have been trying to sell a bunch of parts I bought with the intent to upgrade my CCC to CiC unit. Unfortunately I had a few unexpected repairs and some upgrades come up so I need the money.

There has been little interest so at this point I'm considering just doing the upgrade anyway. But I have a couple of questions:

1) My CCC is a Top-HIFI system, are all CiC head units Top-HIFI compatible (i'd rather not lose sound quality or speakers)

2) Will I be able to use this Aliexpress USB/AUX connector instead of the OEM BMW USB cable that plugs into the unit?

3) Where's a good place to buy that pink connector that connects the head unit to the display?

DO NOT BUY AFTERMARKET HSD FARKA CABLES

I get all my HSD wires from here: https://www.trademotion.com/partloca...?siteid=214320

The CIC is compatible with any audio system, in any E9X. All you need to do is code it properly.

OK so I'm just looking for the usb/aux HSD wire, and the connector between display and CiC unit?

The CCC has just an AUX port in the center console armrest, can I make that a usb/aux instead?

You would need to retrofit a combox for a center console USB port

so without a combox I should just route the usb one to my glovebox like I've seen, and keep the aux in the center console?

Thanks, all of this information is just sort of spattered all around the forum and unfortunately there is no clearly written sticky that captures everything.

Even my CIC DIY guide is a pile of crap. I need to go around and make changes to a few of my guides.

Actually I found it the most useful. I would appreciate things like part #'s but also options. What is required, what is optional, why is it optional etc.

It looks like I'll be doing the swap soon so I can help with the write up if need be, that being said, clearly I'm new to this haha

got any favourite tool for re-pinning? Ideally something on amazon? Or will a set of precision screwdrivers do just fine?

They'll do fine, or picks from harbor freight. Anything that allows you to press down the tab.
