Oil Leaking from Turbo
I was underneath my car for an oil change the other day and decided to take a look at the turbo. As you can see from the picture it looks like there is a slight oil leak. Does this look normal? Maybe something I can solve with an OCC? My turbo has been pretty loud since I bought the car 10k miles ago but there's no white smoke in the exhaust or other indications the turbo is bad.

I changed my VCC a couple months ago and I'm 99% sure it isnt leaking now. I'll check on the OFHG but I'm guessing a leak there would have a tough time getting to the turbo.

If you have an oil cooler, did you also change that gasket out also? I just had to change that after changing the OFHG a year ago. I am doubting either is your problem though. Opposite sides of the engine. If the leak is at the turbo go with Pure.

When I had my turbo out at 150 000km I was told it was leaking out through the seals. So it's probably normal that it happens at some point.
I hadn't actually noticed the oil loss, I only took it out to get it upgraded. Engine was out of the car anyway so it was just a case of taking the opportunity to do upgrades while the labour was easier. |

My indy said the band clamp holding the hot side of the turbo to the cold side was missing. Don't know how on earth that happened. Bottom line is the cold side shifted slightly and now the turbo is junk. At least that might explain my issues holding boost.
