Tint poll!!

Okay I'm getting my car tinted in a few days and have narrowed it down to 2 options: 35% all around or 30% in the back and 35 or 40% in the front windows (driver and passenger).

35% all-around (borrowed pix from various threads). My car is Jet Black with black interior so if I go with 35% it would look exactly like pix 3-5.

20% in the back and 40% in the front (just to give some idea of what it might look like)

You do know it's illegal to tint front windows in CA?

Edit: didn't you start another thread about tinting your windows?

Yeah I know you're not allowed to go lower than 70%. Thus I was thinking of going light(er) in the front to help minimize the risk. Then again i guess it's just the luck of the draw as many people in the Bay have 35% all around and never had any issues. hehe

And yes I did start another thread but the suggestions were all over the place. This thread is asking people to vote between 2 options that I think are best.

But yeah I was thinking 20% in the back and 35 or so in the front but F1 Pinnacle doesn't come in 20, only 5, 15, 30, 35 40, etc.

gross.

anyway, different shades are applied in different situations. depending on the color of the car and the color of the interior.

my e92 was 23% front and 13% in the back. because the car was white and interior black, you could not tell the difference AT ALL.

Dude I have a horror story to tell. When you open your car door the interior light lights up so the auto dimming mirror dims itself. Couple that with 20% tint and you're looking at pitch black. Let's just say I almost ran over something...Scared the shit out of me...

Yeah there was nothing when I looked. Then when i was backing out something was behind me. But yeah from then on I triple check the crap out of things. So I don't think I'm gonna go with 20% all around. lol

IMO you're better off going with one shade darker in the back windscreen, that way the tint doesn't look "uneven" when viewing the car from angles where you can see through the windshield and out the back (or vice versa).

I'm at the shop right now and the car is being worked on as we speak. Decided to go with 30% on the rear windshield and 35 on the rest of the windows. Thanks for the suggestion on the different shade!
