How about discussing the actual car instead of speculating on a bunch of photoshops???

First off, this is just a concept car and not the actual production model. The cars been out since Tuesday and yet still lots of random babbling in here.

Second, I'll say that I do think that there are some definite 5 series similarities and that the front end is absolutetly horrendous....but there is also zero chance that the grill will make it to production. Lexus is terrible for putting out decent concept vehicles and then producing the bland version of the concept.

Especially in some forums\folks have sugested that they copied the 5 series...i believe that BMW will be last place any car manufacturer would go to to copy design!!! Stop flattering yourselves.

I love the new direction Lexus is heading...would be great if the front makes it to the ISF.
As I mentioned in my other post, it does have some 5 series similarities and it should. This class of car is about understated luxury and all of these cars (E class, 5 series, A6, GS) are all somewhat bland and similar. Nothing wrong with that.

And as far as this front making it to the IS F, gtfo.
Count me as one actual IS F owner that would never get near one, if it looked anything like the front end of this concept.

Inb4fanboy: I'm an obsessive when it comes to car design. I'll rave about any design that's actually good. I'll also voice my opinion when a car/concept looks like a deformed piece of shit (LF-Gh, case in point).
I dunno, I think they're quite hit and miss.

I think with a different front end this car could actually be quite attractive. The new GX looks horrible, imo. The LF A is a beautiful, ground breaking car. The ES is the definition of boring and an upgraded Camry. Not a fan of the current GS, but think the LS does a lot of things right. They also have other merits to consider.

Guess it comes down to preferences but I think all manufacturers have their strengths and weaknesses. Outside of AM or Jag, I don't think you could say any car company does styling well across the board.

Straight up, it is hideous.

Hopefully they don't go down the Acura road and ruin their designs.

Most likely they will take the negative feedback from this concept and deal with it accordingly.

lol. Looking at it again the front end really is that bad. The overhang, the headlights, the grille etc. look terrible. However, seeing the pictures of the rear design it looks not too bad now.

I think someone mentioned on here (or maybe another forum) that Lexus should outsource their designing to someone else. I think that might be a good idea because even simple things like where the hood meets the bumper = FAIL.

The car is ugly in person Very disappointing. I am actually heading to the show again on Saturday to pick up some Ibiz wax. I will post up real world pics then.

Ok I was wrong when I said the production model will never look like the concept because spypics show it will be nearly identical. In this case, that's not a good thing! The front end looks too busy and that mesh looks cheap. It should not appear on the front of a 5 series rival.

Pics: http://www.insideline.com/lexus/gs-3...rst-drive.html

Also, read through that because InsideLine have driven the new GS and they say it's a LOT better than the previous one. I have to admit I'm interested to see how much better it is. There is also a picture of the interior uncovered:

That console looks bad. It reminds of a Porsche console (of which i'm not a fan of at all).

The interior looks good on the screen but how will it feel and hold up in time. As far as the drive is concerned, I will hold judgement until I get behind the wheel.. These magazines are laughable.
