My 9500ix hardwire and remote display

I had a hard time finding people who had a 9500ix hardwire and remote display, so I thought I'd make this thread with a few pics.

Background: Had V1 for 3.5 years but was sick of endless noise from it, so got a 9500ix and am loving the endless customizability and GPS features. Decided to have a shop hardwire since I didn't want to pull apart the dash and $39 for everything to be done in an hour was quite appealing.

The unit is out of the way of line of sight (and thieves lines of sight) mounted at the top of the windshield, but it is still possible to access all the buttons and read the display. I pulled the ash tray cubby out and used 3M double sided sticky tabs colored black to attach the unit to the inner tray. The shop drilled a small hole in the back to run the wires up. Enough clearance to close the cover, which I wanted the option to do at night, since the blue light on the Passport remote display is blindingly bright.

Apologies for the crappy iphone photos.

Also, after a few weeks with it, I definitely recommend the 9500ix over the V1. Arrows are nice, but ultimately the myriad of 9500ix features trumps them.
