selective mass adjustments
Hi to all members in USA and UK,
My e91 BMW 330d touring had a problem with white smoke especially when hot after long periods of idling. There is no loss of coolant or oil consumption, engine runs smooth generally with plenty of power. Crankcase breather newer type and clear. My attention was drawn to a possible leaking/dribbling injector/s. I converted to high quality diesel fuel,Shell V power with the addition of Redex diesel additive every fuel top up combined with regular fast runs as opposed to only town driving. The issue has reduced with little percerptible smoke. Here is the latest Selective Mass adjustments with no readings outside + - 1. I would like members opinions on these readings as they appear acceptable and consistent with reasonable injector performance. Thanks in advance. Terry. |

Emmision test passed ok
Thanks for reply.
Car is completely standard, not chipped, cat still complete. Update. My car has now passed its annual emissions tests so it obviously behaved itself at the time of testing. I think it is safe to say that these engines prefer to run on top quality diesel so I am a convert to Shell V power with addition of Redex injector cleaner. The car has now covered in excess of 220.000 miles and still drives like a dream with massive pulling power/high torque. No need to rev engine just let the autobox convert the torque. Occasional sustained 3000 rpm runs by holding in lower gear seems to keep the Cat clean. |
Appreciate
