1-Start WinKFP
2-Select F1(Comfort Mode)
3-Select F3(Update ZUSB)
4-Find and select the ECU that you wish to update/update
5-Select F3(enter vin)
6-Type in car Vin
7-Select OK
8-Select F8(Done)
9-Select F3(Prog.ZB-update)
10-Confirm at own risk
That won't work, a used transmission can't just be flashed to the car via winkfp. ISN needs to be changed and that be changed with some generic tool. I recommend who ever needs it done to find someone that can do it for them, the job isn't super DIY

Those are literally the steps that I did to code mine after putting in a used trans from a 2009 335xdrive to my 07 335xi. I verified in the UIF of INPA before the flash that it said the other cars vin for the transmission ecu and after the flash it had my vin in the UIF. Only after doing that my car behaved normally and displayed the correct gears on the dash.

I broke down and paid a buddy $150 who had Autohex at his shop. I'll follow that path just for shits and giggles to see what else I can read while I'm in there.

Correct, e9x chassis used transmissions can be coded and flashed to the. Car but e70 has different transmission that requires ISN to be changed and standard tools cannot do that unfortunately.

I have an 09 328i and I replaced my auto transmission in may 2018, 12000 miles later is still running good. I did not do any coding at all, no issues.

Looking for some clarification on the discussion about which chassis can and can't have their transmissions reprogrammed with the standard tools.

I'm looking to swap a 6hp19 that I think came from a 330 into my E61 530xi. This CAN or CANNOT be done with standard Dcan tools (INPA, WinKFP etc)?

I've been doing some reading, and I think it's the E70, E71, E84 chassis cars that have the added security that doesn't let you reprogram them, but going from a E90 to a E60 it should be as simple as putting in the correct VIN?

My mechanic didn't want to because they couldn't program it, but I think based on limpiabot809's post I should be able to get it done but want to be sure.

Thanks!

As long as those transmissions are interchangeable then yes you can code it with kdcan and standard tools. I've had certain instances which required flashing the used transmission and then coding with winkfp and ncs expert though so just coding it may not always work right away.

It's a 2007 335i, I have winkfp, tool 32, ncs expert, and something else I believe. I don't think I have spdaten. I have a bimmergeeks k+dcab cable and a laptop I can use.

Hello, can you give me a bit of direction. I had to replace my transmission conductor plate on my e90. I have inpatient and I need to figure out if my cars vin is listed in my car or if it’s the used one I put and and correct it if so. Also, what does the Uif of inpa mean. Thanks

Google is your friend. All of those are coding terms and refer to things in the coding environment.
If you aren't familiar it's easy enough to learn but if you get stuck don't pay too much to get it done

I am also having the problem where I swapped transmissions and valve body's from a donor car. Now the vehicle wont start. I believe the vehicle needs programming. If you still do this that would be great. Thanks.
