Hey - The Passat CC is a great car - its got the newer common rail engine in it and is much more refined that my 140 2007 Passat Estate that I had - my Brother in Law got a CC GT in November and its a damned nice car.It beats the shite out of the Audi A4 which is over priced and as dull as ditch water to look at and to drive. No DPF issues here either as the new VW engine requires a different DPF. Don't discount it as they are great value for money but it will never drive as well as a Beemer- its front wheel drive and a bitsa car.(bitsavw/bitsaskoda/bitsaaudi/bitsaseat).

Very good info there from everyone.
Just wondering - where in the iDrive menu system can you find the remaining time left for the DPF? I have never seen it ????

Guys - I work for a company who makes diesel truck/bus/industrial engines with SCR or DPF aftertreatment systems (dependant upon the part of the globe they are sold). Some filters can be cleaned out by compressed air to get rid of the ash in a controlled environment(special equipment) - I like the comments about assuming it went out the back of the exhuast - sort of defeats the object. I know most of the diesel Beemers we have in the office show a DPF service at 100k.

Further to Pwalo's comments here's what the Bavarian Technic tool shows on my 320d (screen print of all available values)
Keep in mind mV and actual readings are basically the same thing. Reported distance since last regen is wrong though by a factor 100 as far as I can see But yes it looks at current estimated soot loading, and estimated ash content. Mine says (non I-drive) DPF service due in 2021but I do nearly highway only. PS no values are shown on the screenprint, you have to select parameters to start data logging in this software |
