Car is a 2007 BMW E93.

Issue: Tried to close the convertible top and the operation was about 95% completed then suddenly stopped. Upon visual inspection, looks like the roof could not complete the final step, which is to latch/lock the roof in place because the latch/locks from the hardtop prematurely engaged and now the latch/lock is hitting against the locking pin above the sun visors. Tried to lower the top again, but roof will not retract back and now there is a hardtop malfunction message.
