Revs rise slightly when clutch is pressed.

When im stationary and press on the clutch pedal to engage 1st gear the revs blip upwards and then go back down to normal idle. Apart from that the car drives great.

Is this normal or a sign of a part on its way out?

I've had a search and looked about on google but i am getting mixed opinions.

Cheers

How much upwards is a blip? What is your idle, what does it blip to?

Idles at 600 and blips to about 800rpm.

It's supposed to that - stall prevention.

That's nothing... If it was 1500 rpm I'd be concerned. Remember when you push the clutch pedal in you are disengaging a decent amount of mass in the gearbox and the clutch itself so you'd see a blip from that too.

Glad it's normal then. I read on google that it could of been a vacuum leak or throttle body etc
