FSD/Eibach Kit

I have 'ed but did not find a definitive answer.

Does any know if the FSDs that come in the Eibach Kit (2150) the same as FSDs sold separately without the Eibach kit (2100)?

In my search some said yes, and some said no. Those who spoke directly with Koni got very different answers as well.

What's the difference between the two (2150 vs 2100) ? If it's the same spring with different item number, does it matter?

Yes they are, they are just packaged together with the springs at a discount when bought together.

I like them quite a bit, but only in limited areas. I often drive in areas that are older and the roads kinda suck. Its those times that I feel down right abused by them. And when I have my wife or my mom in the car, its almost embarrasing at times to have this nice car that rides worse than an old pick up truck.

On smoother roads Im happy as can be, but over ruts and uneven pavement, ouch!

I could turn down the stiffness, but then the car leans and bounces too much. So, even though I like the ride height of the H&Rs, I might have to go with the Eibachs so that I can use the FSD shocks. Hell, its only by 5mm in the rear and 2-3mm in the front, that wont look too bad???? Will it??

And shes pregnant now, and the strong rebound hurts her tummy sometimes too.

But even on my own, I got pretty angry at the ride yesterday in a part of town I was in.

Yea, thats where mine are at, 1.5 turns in front and 1 turn in the rear. Its awesome most of the time. And even though the ride is similar to stock with runflats, the handling is MUCH better

I recently changed from a H&R race w/FSD setup to a Eibach Pro-kit w/FSD and the difference is like night and day. I can really feel what FSDs are all about now.

With my FSD/Eibach, when I go over bumps, I can hear the rear wheel thump as if the wheel skipped or something. I am not sure if its my 19" or its the dampers.

Yea, I originally had FSD with H&R Sport, but they were acting badly on a low spring.

So, hows the ride height? I just hope Im not too disappointed. I dont think I will be, its only a few mm in the front and like 5mm in the rear.

Hey guys,
I have the H&R sport springs and FSD shocks. I haven't installed them yet. Are you saying these two don't work together? Please explain....

If that is the case I'm sure I can sell the springs and swap them for Eibach's.

Thanks!
Nick

Change the anti roll bars (sway bars) even the m sport only comes with 14 or 15mm as standard on the rear!

By the way I have Koni FSD with the Eibach springs and find it really soft, it is softer than the standard m sport from BMW.

Mine is coming off the car next Wednesday!

Yes, they do NOT work. I had that combo for a week. Use the search feature for more info. The springs are too low and the shocks seem to go limp. Its like riding with them in soft mode all the time.

If you are going to use them, either use Eibach or stock springs, but not H&R.

+1

I have the same feeling even with just stock ZSP and RFT. It's embarassing to have the harsh ride when my wife and in-laws are in the car. Need to switch out the RFT soon!

The sway bars are awesome. It was my first suspension mod, its relatively cheap and makes a HUGE difference in cornering flatter.

I think this is the key statement. You should probably go drive a stock car over rough roads ... after awhile you forget what it feels like ... to make sure it really does compare. I rode in a friends stock zsp 325 the other day and it had the same impact harshness that I curse, and thought it was part of the aftermarket suspension.

If you really think your current setup is pretty close to stock, then I doubt the FSD/Eibach are going to be a whole lot better.

I like mine about 85% of the time; that other 15% of the time they feel like their completely mis-matched. Eibach rake is kinda weird too with the front having more visible gap than the back when parked. In motion, it looks normal (vain, I know).
