Custom exhaust review
Hey guys,
Thought I'd post my custom exhaust details for anyone looking to get something similar: Specs: Started with muffler delete, added 2 vibrant resonators in place of secondary cats, then ran 2.5" all the way to the tips. The tips are $50 from eBay and I really like the 4" double wall look. Cost: - Tips $50 - Resonators: $100 - Install (and piping): $150 Cons: There is a lot of exhaust noise around 2k but it's easy to get around with some music, there is a lot of vibration but no drone. Pros: Sounds great imo and my GF likes it Not sure how long I will keep this setup, it is very loud and doesn't feel like the right way to go for a BMW. I'll be keeping my loose change to get a VRSF catback before summer Some videos: Last edited by fordbaxter; 08-01-2017 at 11:03 AM.. |

So are you fully catless now?
Does the car smoke up from time to time? |

Has stock downpipes, it doesn't smoke at all from what I've seen, though it does smell really strong after removing the secondary cats. Also spits a lot of water, the stock muffler had at least a gallon of water in it when the shop emptied it lol

I've got the same exhaust setup, nearly. Ar20 resonators welded in place of secondary cats and straight piping all the way back. My downpipes are catless though. There is so much rasp at ~5k rpm. There is also drone. It does sound gnarly but I'm about tired of it. It gets old, here is a clip from my last track event, the mic is external. [u2b]https://youtu.be/mf1YoiqyOH0[/u2b]

Straight up my car did the same thing! It dumped water everywhere at the shop. I flipped because I thought it was a sign of a bad head gasket
