Wouldn’t it be better for everyone if someone like you who knew the answer shared it rather than make that useless post?
I didn't wrote anything that would imply to your intellect or what you do, what you have done and ect. but I guess I could so the post wouldn't be so useless huh? I was just honest. Modifying brake shoes is definitely not a secret. The BMW community has been doing it since the e36 came out some 30y ago. Since you want photos, here: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=604481 Why you need this done?

Hey, all. I tried reading this whole thread...I really did, but there's so many part numbers various chassis being thrown around and arguments...

I've got a line on a brand new F3x Performance brake set for $1200, and would like to know if this is the right set that can be used for my car...and which parts from the set are not usable for me.

Car is 2010(Pre-LCI) E92 335i.

Brake set for sale is part number 34112450468.

It inludes:
Front calipers - 4 piston
Rear calipers - 2 piston
Front rotors - 370x30
Front pads
Rear pads
Front dust shields
Rear dust shields
and all of the hardware.

Thank you.

This is the part number I ordered, and slightly different but may be same parts. All included like your description, minus the Allen bolts for the rotors (front and back). Rest all there and not bad to install once "someone" figured out how!

I skipped the dust shields but fronts should fit. Also I would pick up 2 "old" wear sensors as they fit without modification but I modified ones included easily.

Thanks for that. They appear to be the same, except the ones I'm looking at are red. I'm assuming that's the difference in part numbers with just the last digit being off by 1.

What rear rotors are needed for these on E92? Also, is the E9x M3 master still recommended for this?

The digit differences is just color. It looks like the easiest option for the rear is the 535i rotors because the offset is very close to what you'll need. I opted to use the F30 M Performance rotors back when I did mine which entailed machining the calipers, etc. I know it's a pain in the ass since it's such a long thread now but the info is there for the rear, you just have to find it.

And yes, I would consider the M3 MC a necessity.

NP, yes do the M3 master for sure, steel braided lines, and code your car for performance brake option.

Crap! There's coding needed, too? Haven't come across any mentions of that, yet. Looks like I've got lots of reading to do to make this happen.

If you're a 335i there's no need for coding. That's a 328i thing.

Cool, I did not know that! Nice, and makes sense I guess - thanks for clarifying!

I uploaded a not listed YouTube video, I hope you can hear that annoying noise from the rear brakes while driving.

Good looking car! Interesting with the bushings, but still don't see how you made the calipers upon install center perfectly on the rotor since the material required (at least as I found) was more than just the thickness of the bushing hat/sleeve. Am I missing something? And just curious obviously. Also, I can understand the frustration with the unwanted noise, and I have no patience with such! On that note, did you check if one one of the many moving parts inside the drum brakes came loose, like a spring or retainer?

I might have figured it out after some more Reading on here; if your offset vary on the Euro spec rotors, you may have a better starting point that what I did. Also, sorry for your loss in soccer!
AD777,

Did you get that noise figured out, and eliminated btw? Must drive you crazy if not, by now!

Excellent, I'm 335i, so that is great news.

Question, can I install just the fronts without the M3 master until I figure out the rears? Any issues with that?

Yes, the fronts work fine on a stock MC.

After a month or so, I can't say enough how great these brakes are. Great pedal feel, balance, and well performing setup, and no issues or unwanted sounds/noise. Thanks again Feuer et rest who contributed greatly, I owe you!
Perhaps I do M3 pads at next replacement, but really have no issue with the ones it came with/OEM!

- I also added some more pictures, in previous post showing how little I had to shave down off the back off the calipers to get them to center on discs, and especially how helpful the E60 335 rear Zimmerman disc offset was. Additionally, although tough to see in pictures, it also shows that the plane of the discs and calipers are parallel and which wear pattern indicate now as well. I could have brought out the holes in knuckle out another 1mm perhaps (should have drawn a vertical line at inner perimeter of existing 10mm hole, and make sure to only go outward from there per the early Feuer hole illustration, to be dead on) but not worried about it as currently pads are flushing the inside of the disc wear surface pattern. If you just take your time this is a pretty straight forward job with just a grinder, drill bit and do multiple verifications/test fits on car, Atleast on the first side you work on before you have your required measurements to cut and let the grinder rip. To be honest shaving the calipers to me was is easier than dealing with the stupid hand-brake dis-assembly and re-assembly to access the holes in knuckle for drilling I think... and not related to my larger 135/335 equivalent mod/upsize of those but rather the stupid clips and springs etc!

Does anyone want the F30 M performance brake dust shields? I'm about to throw them out.

Haha, I don't even want money from it! Just pay for shipping.

I just want to re-purpose it before it ends up in the land fill.

Yeah, getting close and just asking $25 but gladly take zero. Anything to not have to deal with the Craigslist crowd, at least given my great experiences.
