Yes.

Though, it makes it easier for people to steal your wheels.

Studs are used on race cars to change tires faster..not sure they are safer or less safe than OEM. Like someone said..they are easier to steal with studs..since you cant use wheel locks.

Well, you could use tuner wheel nuts which need a specific socket for them. If you get 90mm, you'll need a deep socket too. I was joking about the stealing wheels things, besides if car thieves REALLY want your wheels, they get them one way or another.

Safety wise, someone told me that they heard from someone else a reason (which they forgot) to use factory bolts oppose to stud/nuts. But I don't think it matters. People use bolts and studs on track, so both options are probably safe.

If you aren't tracking your car, it should matter even less.

Part of making the switch is to make sure that the studs you are getting are high quality and are made of hardened steel, grade 8 preferable.

yea BBS makes studs for our cars that are of high quality.

Studs vs bolts are about the same as far as sealing wheels go. With lug nuts you can get some with built in wheel locks.
