Post Procede v4 FAQ

Hi guys,
Here's some official info regarding our upcoming v4 release. Most of this info is scattered around different threads making it hard to find. So here it is in one place. Hopefully, it should answer everyone's questions.

Will v4 work with a Rev.1 Procede?
No, unfortunately it won't. For the first time, this update will only be compatible with Rev.2 units. This is because, among other thing, the tune is relying on several channels of CANbus data that cannot be extracted through traditional signal wire interception.

Will v4 require any additional modules/wires?
No, it is completely software-based. As will most prior updates, it will only involve a simple firmware and map update.

What will the v4 update cost?
Nothing ($0)

What does it do that's so special?
TBA

When will it be released?
6MT beta map are already circulating around in very limited release. Full wide-release beta maps are 1-2 weeks away. 6AT beta maps should follow 1-2 weeks after that.

Any more questions, ask away. I'll update this FAQ as needed.

Cheers,
shiv

This update is bad ass. Boost is ROCK SOLID and the car feels faster. Not sure if its all in my head but it feels faster. I have always found it easy to spin 2nd by stabbing the throttle but tonight i got sideways in 3rd!!!! The LSD and my 265's were screaming all the way home.

What your tires are feeling is a profound reduction of turbo lag and an elimination of combative throttle management. So, as with a large displacement naturally aspirated engine, you can "shock" the tires into wheelspin if you stomp on the throttle too quickly. There is also noticeably higher torque output at partial throttle boost pressures. Combined with the reduction in lag, the engine will do things that it didn't do before.

Do you still need international AT stage 1 pre beta testers?

So you need the Canbus harness for it to work?

so is it safe to say that 11-2 map w/145 firmware would be the last upgrade for v3 rev 1 users?

So Shiv, I actually bout the unit right before you came out with the harness. You will remember me because I was the one that had the problems with the vehicle dying right after start up. I sent it back to you and you told me to send you back the harness so that you can update it with the Canbus and then I left the country. I recently just got back after 7 long months. Is that someone you can still do for me? Thanks

Just don't expect any profound performance changes with future Rev.1 maps. There is only so much we can do without CANbus integration. As such, most of our R&D time will be spent on Rev.2 map development from now on. We've just scratched the surface of what we can do with that platform.

so i'm trying to understand this.difference in v3 rev 1 and canbus v4 is not in hard hp and torque #'s (which are the same on the dyno),but in consistency of boost delivery.is that right?
^^ looks like you answered above.thanks^^^

Shiv, I have a friend with a Ford 500GT who says a CANbus Stage 2 is minced meat against that Monster. Do you think the V4 Stage 2 would at least give our cars a fighting chance?

Truthfully, I don't know much about the 500GT other than it having a cool name representing an optimistic account of its engine's power output. So your guess is as good as mine...

if it is stock you definitely have a chance. well if its before 2010 model. i've ran one several times with just the rev2 from a 60 roll. pretty much dead even till about 130 and then i started to crawl ahead till 140.

if its modded...well...only one way to find out.

Will v4 eliminate Turbo lag completely? The car itself doesn't have a lot of turbo lag, unless you try to punch it right away. From my old Evolution and then coming to my 335, I felt less turbo lag feel which I would rate at 40% less lag, (100% no lag at all). Will this increase it close to 100%?
Or will this release completely eliminate turbo lag, no mater if you drive it gradually to redline or WOT it?

WOW! But for a tune to put it exactly at par with a natural aspirated engine its game change in itself. I have never driven a turbo car that is turbo lag free. The 911 Turbo always felt the best when punching it, but I always felt like the 335 felt best when driving it gradually, with the evolution being the worse but then loved how it spooled boost fast and put my head back. Your saying that our 3.0 liter turbo engine will give us the same feeling of delivering of a 4.2 Audi RS4 or say a 4.7 Maserati naturally aspirated engine. What does that mean for us xi driver with traction from start?

It's as close to "no turbo lag" as I've felt before - where it will be most apparent is moving around at partial throttle
