But, the lag is certainly noticeable. This is not something new with 4.0 as it has been happening for as long as I can remember. I am not throwing any codes last time I checked on the Cobb. Until I did some reading, I thought this much lag was normal.

After reading some threads, many people say the n54 has very little noticeable turbo lag and that any lag may be attributed to a software update to fix wastegate rattle issues. Could that be my problem here, or does the Cobb flash overwrite these possible issues with the car's computer?

Any guidance is appreciated. If I should log a run, advice on what parameters to log would also be helpful. Thanks.
Don't confuse continuing to build boost beyond stock because it isn't capped, with lag.which is the actual delay from throttle to turbo response.

Try at higher revs and then see

Ya I couldn't take the rattle it ruins the sound of the car, mine is worse than that and it is embarassing. Thus the reason I promptly switched back to JB4 and am waiting for a WG rattle fix.

Here's one of a couple logs i got tonight of stage 2+ SPORT. All the logs looked really good and i'm really happy with how sport is running(i am running 93 though.) Timing on cyl 1&2 are identical and really smooth

I'll give aggressive a couple runs tomorrow.

I live 2 1/2 hours from the nearest 1/4 and my work schedule is horrible right now so I haven't been able to get to a track yet, hopefully soon.

Every log I've ever had 80% throttle is WOT.

Is that requested or actual TPS?

Every car I've hooked a scan tool to ~80%=WOT. This car and my APR stage 2 VW logged 80% as WOT.

my thoughts with v400 with Steptronic:

-with LT i think i have easier worse fuel consumption than with ST map?
-does automatic transmission accelerate faster 1/4 or 1 mile with ST or with
LT map?
-seems (not sure) that with LT it keeps a little quieter exhaust sound than with ST (golf tee mod+sport exhaust+cattless system)?if so...its good.
maybe because the revs are in different range when using ST?

what do you think, expecially if you have AT?

hey rader, does Sport feel more powerful or just more responsive? did you do a few pulls to let the ecu adapt?

why not run the data through virtual dyno and see the numbers?

^ also It would be a good idea to compare boost in the midrange. I wish I could run aggressive maps. 92 is highest octane we get...

Sport feels more powerful. However, aggressive runs more boost and timing in the mid range and up top. On the VD it shows sport as having more torque and aggressive having more HP. That log was the 4th pull and about 30 miles after switching maps so it may not have had time to adapt fully. I'll post up a pick of VD tonight for a comparo.

Yeah kinda weird, that you get less torque with more boost.

Log both with all cylinders timings . Do this after at least 5 pulls 3-4-5 gear.
