We're you able to find a wire that was 12V when the car was off, and <5V when it was on?
Did you wait a couple minutes after locking to test the voltage? Thought I read that it took a couple minutes for the wire to bounce up to 12V. I think it was around 4.3V when the car was on.

EDIT: Sounds like it's the green wire. Not sure what pin, or if it's the same on LCI vs Non. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth....3#post1194028

EDIT AGAIN: Read the other thread. Looks like you tested the green wire and it didn't work in your LCI like it's supposed too. Sorry.

Actually it works on my 2011 LCI. It is a green wire on the first pin of 14 wires connector.

I was thinking of doing something exactly the same as this but couldn't actually get around to sitting down to figure out what was needed.

I'm definitely in as well.

Ok I need some help. I reduced the size of the unit down to a 1" x 1" square. I installed mine over the weekend and it looked great. When I started the car though it just kept flashing. Did not cut off. If anyone has the connected on an LCI vehicle, I would love to know which wires were used.

Do you have Zener Diode in your circuit?

Yes.

I think the issue is grabbing the correct wires. I was using a Gray/black stripe and a red/violet stripe. When I traced these with a continuity check, the LED lit. But, when the car is on, they both have 12V on them. I know the Gray/black stripe is right and I think I need to tap into the Black/brown stripe for the return.

Still can't get the power on Pin 1 of the 14 pin connector as everyone talks about. After sitting for 5 minutes, it goes to 0.52V.

I'll buy one for my 07 e90 when the design kinks get worked out if it's relatively simple to install.

thanks for taking the time and effort to do this...i think they will sell well for those of us who want a blinking clown nose but don't care about the full alarm. i'm interested as well, when you get things all squared away with precise instructions...and i think you should bump your price up a bit so you can make at least a little money out of the deal....

In, this was somewhere down on my list of things to do, but if you can make it conveniently small and at good cost, I'll take one for sure
