Have a 3rd party gold warranty through old republic w. $50 deductible and it has paid for itself already.

I drive a 2010 e92 335xi...@ 52k had oil filter housing gasket replaced and at 55k I had all injectors, replaced under warranty.

Just make sure you read the fine print..a lot of 6 yr 100k warranties aren't 6 years from the purchase date, but your cars in service date so essentially it may be a 2 year warranty.

I want to thank everyone for your opinions! I'v decided not to extend BMW warranty and just stick with my Allstate warranty which is good for 100,000 miles or 10 years of date purchased. As for maintenance I'v decided not to extend it ether, all that it says would be done in the Idrive in the next 2 yrs would be breaks and oil change which I can do my self. I'm still going to see if i can have it fully inspected at dealer before it expires at the end of the month and get as much done to it as possible. Thank you.

Things done to my car whilst under factory warranty:
Replace broken charge pipe.
Replace another broken charge pipe.
Replace warped rotors.
Replace rubber around rear window.
Replace water reservoir.
Replace water reservoir again.
Fix major malfunction in the stability/traction control.
Replace headlight assembly due to broken motor.

So, of course I bought the Gold Extended Warranty 6 year/100,000 miles. I hit 50,000 in 3 years, so I should be spot on 100k by year 6.

I also have the extended maintenance plan and wheel & tire warranty.

I would get flats all the time in my prior car, but now... Not a one in 3 years. Go figure.

Hi,

I didn't vote in the poll because you should have "Warranty Only".
I would go with the warranty but probably skip the maintenance.
My car is a CPO car. I would not buy a turbo BMW without the CPO and I would extend my warranty if possible on my existing car. Too expensive to repair.

The extended warranty is very valuable.
I had O2 Sensors replaced, vanos and crank sensor, water pump and most recently rough/bad idle fixed. The bad idle on my car consisted of them doing a complete valve job for intake buildup. It's costing me $50 and I had a new loaner for the last week.
Not sure if it was maint. or warranty because I have both.

I paid for the maint. plan and it's a real expensive way to get oil changes and plugs.

YMMV but, I would not even think twice about extending the warranty on these cars.
My car rolls off CPO in a month and I can still get an extended warranty for 3 years/36K.
For me it's a no brainer. YMMV.

Don't ask for walnut blasting, I didn't.
Complaint about rough idle.

My car just had a complete head job done for rough idle.
I have maint and CPO so maybe the maint covered it.
I don't have the invoice yet.

I took it in for a bad O2 sensor and complained about rough idle.
They fixed the O2 sensor but the idle problem stayed.
They pulled the plugs and did a leak down test and noticed leak the down was not as good as it should be. They then pulled the intake. At that point they decided to walnut blast. After cleaning up a bit they decided valve guide and seals didn't look good from all the carbon buildup.

The end result is a freshened head.
New springs, guides, coolant hoses, etc.....

My CPO warranty and maint. is paid for.

I didn't ask them for the walnut blasting... they are suggesting that's the issue and not covered under CPO. But I told them I had the issue before and after having walnut blasting done... so that means it's not the carbon build up issue... but something else. They won't dig any further.
