So, I have an e90 330i with bluetooth and would love to be able to play music through my phone. Is there any additional add-on that I can get to be able to perform this function?

Want to add another success story for retrofitting a 2011 GSM TCU, as suggested by Dracon, into my 2008 335i, build date 02/2008. I also put in a 2011 FZD, but apparently the newer cars are using the same FZD part numbers, including the mic.
I didn't even have to do any programming as my S640A Telephone pre-prepped car automatically sensed the new components and the activated Bluetooth module from the donor car, enabling pairing with my iPhone 5 and activation of voice recognition. But the system can't "hear" me so I'm thinking either the mic is bad, or the connections are not seated properly (or maybe I really have to do "some" programming or reset). Will have to check it tomorrow. FYI, the S640A package already includes the backup Bluetooth antenna. I discovered that after pulling the rear package shelf to install the new one I had purchased. |

I've read about two others having mic issues, and one of them seemed to involve a pair of mics (phone and nav) and 2 vs 3 wires to the phone mic and had to re-pin a clear-sheathed wire and yellow wire at the fuse box. I hope I don't have to resort to this method as the FZD and mic are the same part numbers for my Model Year application (even though the assembly came out of a 2011).
I also have never actually "coded" VO's (when you add $639 will $640 automatically be removed or do I need to manually remove it?) yet with NCS Expert; I've only run the new battery registration job, which is relatively simple and straight-forward. So I'm still wrapping my head around what exactly I need to do with modifying the code file, which modules I need to "touch", and what other "jobs" I need to run (like "SG_RESET"). I do have all the software and profiles I need to accomplish the task. |

This is to provide closure to this issue as I finally resolved the non-functioning mic!
Hopefully, my experience and solution will help others performing a Bluetooth upgrade that already has the 6FLA USB/Audio Interface package installed.
