Hi,

Anyone advise a good product for treating rubber seals? everything that I have used only lasts a week before the annoying rubbing comes back to drive me mad!

Any suggestions?

A product called Gummi Pflege is good stuff. Also if you can get it, Shin Etsu Silicone Grease is even better. Used to use both on the rubber seals of my S2000's roof.

Try the Shin Etsu then. You only need to apply it every 5-6 months. Not cheap though.

carbaflow or DUPONT KRYTOX GPL-105 The latter I've purchased from ebay. It really is the most reliable product to stop creaking on seals and other rubbing plastics.

I have just put grease on the top of each door - the furry bit. Sometimes need to re-apply it, but the latest greasing has lasted 3 months or so without any creaking.

Only had my 320 for a few weeks and the door creaking is doing my head in already, need to get this sorted. Any decent cheapish products out there?

I used a plumbing lubricant for push-fit fittings about 6 years ago, Never had to do it again. It is silicone based lubricant for waste fittings with the rubber O rings.

Bartol Silicone lubricant. I used it on my e93 conv. roof seals when dealer failed to cure the problem. It comes in toothpaste tube size. Other manufacturers of push fit fittings may also supply it. Plumbing counter is a good place to start.

Try what i suggested earlier. I have bought a couple of products off the net but they were useless. I have greased the doors/seals in all places, but found that just the furry strip on top of each door was all that was needed. It is months since i did mine - when i first got the car the noise was almost unbearable.

I would imagine that you could smear virtually anything that is similar to grease along the furry strip and it would improve things.
