Does anyone foresee a problem...
with bringing in my car with a BMS intake for an oil change?
How strict are the BMW dealerships with these things? I know they will not void the warranty, but would they take note of it for future reference? Or should I just take it out before I bring it in? (such a pain in the ass). -Thanks. RP

First of all, I just couldn't take the small risk of having them void the warranty. It is possible that they could note down you have an intake, and if you have future problems with the intake, you are out of luck. Very small chance of this possibility but a possibility nonetheless. |

By taking it in with an intake or asking them "what do you think about modifications"?

I'd take it out just to be 100% safe. If this were say, a brake issue, then I would consider it. But with it being an oil change and they need to pop the hood to put in the new oil and all, they will see the intake.

Ehh... I'll take it out along with the JB3 that I just put in.
It's petty much in the wide open once you remove everything to take out the JB3. I hate the small rubber plugs on the stock intake that keep it in place. I can't believe that you have to yank it out pretty much to get it out.

So I took out the BMS filter in about 10 seconds, and I have spent a good hour trying to put in the stock intake... the intake tubes are just not going in. My hands are all scratched up, I give up I'm bringing it in with the BMS filter I guess. BMW made it almost impossible to put it back in if you take it out.

Don't worry I've been to two different dealers and several visits with my BMS on and no issue what so ever.
