But at this point you 100% know the issue is related to inlets, as that is the only variable.
I agree that sound is subjective......but this was a massive change after the inlet install. It went from a nice smooth and deep "whooooosh".......to a crazy high pitched "screech" (like in the video).

I'm just trying to figure out a logical explanation of why the sound differs so much from the stock hard plastic inlets to the softer silicone inlets.

Right, and I'm just saying nothing changed with the BOV, so it would be silly to start altering it now. You know the "problem" lies in the inlets. And you have found many other people with similar complaints after replacing inlets. As crazy as it seems, it makes the most sense that the sound is coming from the intake filters and not the BOV. I remember bringing this up before and you thought it was too much work to swap in the factory airbox for testing, but surely this is less work than removing the BOV and filing its ports.

Nothing changed with the BOV. The sound is new and coming strictly from the inlets, it's not subjective either. It's a new sound, not talking about an exhaust.

I'm not complaining about the sound, just stating.

I have my airbox open right now waiting on an adapter so I can seal off the intake and run it closed again. That's the only change that can be made, running open air filters vs. closed air system.

1 guy on page 1 said a custom tune had taken care of 95% of it, but when flashed back to OTS maps it came right back again.

By subjective, I'm not saying the sound hasn't changed. I'm saying it's subjective to say it sounds terrible. Just like exhaust, one man's terrible is another's symphony.

Gotcha, ya everything functions properly and that's my main concern. The sound then just a by product of the physics of the system which is fine by me.

Have always had this since inlets and stock diverters, and now that I put on TurboSmart DVs it's even more pronounced, every shift with more than -1psi of boost.

@iqraceworks did you ever figure it out? My twos come in on Thursday and I'm curious if that ended up making it less extreme, otherwise I might dig up my factory airbox and throw a new filter in it.

Nope.....I just got used to the hoooot-owl sounds every time the BOV dumps. I'm 99.9% sure it has everything to do with the silicon inlets......some kind of reverberation you get inside of them since they a softer, more flexible material vs. the oem hard plastic ones.

Even after new turbos, and a custom tune.......some hoot-owl sound.

I've given up on getting my nice deep WOOOSH!! sound back I had with the stock inlets and Tial BOV.

That's unfortunate, it absolutely is the inlet shape and material. I wonder if I could somehow fit a mesh into the ports to cause turbulence and maybe quiet down the noise. Sometimes it's a super tiny BOV flutter which I don't mind but when it sounds like a bamboo flute every time I let off to shift... it's gonna make me go insane

I'll go ahead and update this, after installing the Twos and using a throttle body vacuum adapter rather than the factory manifold port the squealing is almost gone, or at least much much better than before. Many times it doesn't make the noise whatsoever. I think they were opening slowly enough before to cause some weird resonance maybe? Curious if anybody else has noticed/tried this

Mine still makes the same noise after the manifold adapter and 1/4" ID hose .....no change at all.
