I’m not looking for a duel I’m just out having fun and working on my skills. This is my daily driver and it’s a street car, and I have nothing to prove.

I was just glad to finally get a chance to benchmark against a E46M3, only because it was always my target with this build. I even said so in the opening post of this build thread from years ago. So it feels good to see that I hit the target!

We have dogfight! My 255hp stock. Im trying to copy your build but instead with b12 prokit. Yours is legendary tier Bmw now. It should be in Bmw magazine. "Florida Man creates 328i CSL in his Garage!"

He does provide some inspiration

Last night I ordered a handful of ball joints for the back end of my e91. Also been swapping in M3 arms here and there, and pondering reinforcements.

P.S. Al, how are your Meyle ball joints holding up so far? I've ordered them for the trailing arms on mine.

Thanks guys! I love that others appreciate the build so much. I mean, I love it but it’s nice to see others do too

The Meyle joints are great! No issues no complaints. Meyle is an OEM supplier so I would have no concerns.

Hey there, been on this build and have been gathering a lot of inspiration from you. Recently just upgraded to the e90 335i brakes and was wondering how you coded sport brakes in? Did you do it through winkfp, ncsexpert, or ista-p? Going to a track day pretty soon, so really excited to see what the car can do against my friends' track s2000 and e36 m3s

Hey,

I tried doing it through the Bimmergeeks Pro Tool but couldn’t get it to work, so my buddy had to do it with his laptop. He had to use winkfp to change the VO to add “+SPBR”

The use NCS Expert to code the entire car so all the modules will change settings to reflect the new change on the VO.

I don’t think I ever shared this here. When I did the front F80 spindle swap and wanted to keep my F30 brakes instead of swapping to F80 brakes I had to make a spacer to go behind the brake rotor. This is because of the 11mm offset the F80 spindles push the brake caliper mount outwards towards the wheel face.

If I put a 11mm spacer behind the rotor I would lose the hub lip for wheel mounting, and also the caliper would hit the inside of my wheel. So I took 6 mm of materiel off the spindles which I showed here before.

I also used a 5mm wheel spacer behind the brake rotor to get the full 11mm offset. A wheel spacer has a smaller ID than what fits over the base of the hub. I made myself a lathe set up to open up the ID of the Rotor Spacer I was making and then used a custom Hubcentric Ring to center the rotor against the spacer.

Swipe Right to see all the pics of how I did it on my custom “Premium Unleaded” powered lathe

Skateboard lathe?

You win for creativity and fun factor!

Now that's some backyard ingenuity that not even I would have thought of, and I'm good at coming up with crazy tricks/solutions to do things. PROPS!!!!

I love how precarious and ingenious it all is. But I'm fortunate enough to work in engineering/fabrication, so I have (indirect) access to actual lathes, laser cutters, etc for free or cheap...I would have just got some spacers cut from sheet for £5 each at the most!

The use of the skateboard is next-level bodge though. So good!

I never noticed that lol. I like how you can see the CSL style Ram intake in that pic. In most front end pics of my car you can’t make out the opening.

3.0 CSL - It has to be amongst my favorite cars produced by Munich, on a pretty short list. Bravo!
