Diff bracket

Anybody have a diff bracket mounted? I just installed mine and the car pulls a lot harder but wondering if anybody else got any results or if it's just my imagination

Did you buy the BMS version? It's supposed to reduce/eliminate wheel hop by making the rear end more stable.

So, I can imaging it will make the car feel quicker because the tires & rear end is now more planted & straight forward. You should feel more torque as a result

You should couple with upgraded sway bars, & Monroe upgraded shock mounts for the rear, if you are looking to corner on a dime

I bought the eBay version about $40 cheaper than bms, only difference is the eBay version has welds but unless the welds fail they should both work the same

Thanks I'm going to look into that

I think it might be because you have the small differential. I have an auto 08/06 build so I got a large differential like the manuals do. After sept 2007 bmw switched auto trans to small differentials

How so? Is a rear diff bracket even possible for a 2010 xi? All brands seem to exclude
My year. Thanks

This is my for sale thread: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1829952 I got them but ended up installing m3 diffs. Little more involved to install and cost more but will fit your car.

Why would the car "pull harder" with a diff brace on it? Just wondering....

Likely because the car is putting the power down better now. I can absolutely see that is the diff and subframe bushings are still OEM, less so with upgraded bushings.

This is good to know. I have the BMS brace and haven't gotten around to installing it for over a month. I should get to it ASAP.

You doing it on the iS? Is there still some modification required to make it fit right?

I don't think so. You'll need the larger brace for 335is.

What the hell! Lol right on the bms website it does not include 2010... I even called them and they said nope sorry lol.
Do you have the small diff or the large diff?
Can I ask if you noticed any difference after?

I am going to need to look at my diff to see if I can do this too. Thanks in advance!

Only took me 40 minutes because I didn't have the right drill bit size but it really is simple and quick to do

Right we have the larger diff, plus I have mt. I just thought we needed to drill into the subframe to get it to line up, maybe I'm wrong

I don't think you have to drill into the subframe in most cases. There should be 2 holes down there that are threaded I believe. I have an January 07 build and that's what my subframe looks like. I have the large diff.

Online it says after 08 they all have holes, some from 07 have them but most don't and all 06 do not have holes
