Hey guys I have a 2011 335i and I wanted to put a downpipe but I am not sure which one to get I saw some people say the 4" one is good but I do not know what difference it would make, if someone can help me and explain it to me and recommend me one I would really appreciate it!

.5" isn't going to make that much of a difference. VRSF is the current go to for price.

If you're shopping used and come across the N54tuning pipe it was the best pipe for the price when it was still offered. Otherwise I would go with the VRSF but make sure it is the newer version.

The VRSF offers a cast merge collector for the smoothest possible transition from the downpipe to the mid pipes and we offer free ceramic coating. There isn't an option out there that can compete, especially when considering the price.
3.5" is enough to flow up to 800whp without imposing any restriction |

Just got my VRSF down-pipe on 2 weeks ago now and man they don't disappoint . It sounds AMAZING and you can feel it in the pedal the Throttle kicking in it's a little less laggier

I agree with everyone here, VRSF is the way to go in terms of price/quality. If we're talking catless, it's just a pipe, no complaints on the cast/welding and it gets the job done.
I myself was worried about the "smell" of catless and waited and searched the forums back and forth for about 3 months before finally pulling the trigger. Unless you are standing directly behind the car or are in an enclosed parking garage you won't smell a thing. |

living in GA and going catless means i would have to uninstall and reinstall once a year. Unless the DP fix works for emissions and not just stopping the CEL??...
Does having MHD help? i know i could clear the code, but will it constantly re-appear? same n55 engine...

I have had the VRSF DP fix on for over a year. My last emissions was January. I still have the OEM/catted downpipe box checked in MHD and I have not had an engine light pop up yet. Emissions are still passing.

That is a relief.
But if you are on catless DP but check the box for stock DP, are you losing the MHD power gain you would get from the DP? Not sure if that made sense |

The checkbox is only for the code. It doesn't change the tune parameters so there is no power loss by selecting it or leaving it unchecked.
