Crimson Red E90 - Work in Progress

Hello!

Wanted to take the time to share some progress of my car; mostly for my own tracking purposes.

Several months ago I decided that I couldn't do multiple cars anymore, got rid of them all in search of one that felt nice on the inside, had some power, and looked decent on the outside as well that I could daily drive.

Ended up finding a used 335i; right up my alley. (My first BMW!)

Right after getting her registered:

Knowing that I was going to be driving this everyday, I had to upgrade the factory head unit; get something with Bluetooth that looked incredibly factory and cover up that wood grain for something more sporty:

Next on the list was getting rid of that OEM bumper for something a bit more aggressive. Decided that the M3 Rep was the way to go:

While I was under there, I wanted to drop the car a bit from factory, so I went with the H&R Sport springs. I really was considering race springs -- a buddy of mine did on his e90, actually...it's SUPER low. Probably would have been too low for me, imo.

Ended up getting some wheels to compliment the new look:

Didn't take long, finished putting everything on. All painted and ready to go:

Fast forward a few months later, got warned for having no front licence plate...ended up getting a front tow hook bracket and after a lot of back and forth, spent the money and got myself the V-style lip:

Keeping clean is hard in the winter:

With the help of my brother, I even did a little headlight restoration. Here's a before and after:

Things were finally all together, did a photoshoot at dusk:

Of course, all good things come to an end at some point -- was hoping it didn't have to be like this...well, there goes that expensive ass lip:

Ended up hitting the remains of a blown semi-truck tire while driving home from work.

Now that brings us to several weeks ago. I absolutely hated driving around with my car all messed up, so I ended up selling my wheels and the paint chipped M3 rep bumper to start a new.

Decided on the 1M/E90 bumper:

While I'm at it, I'm going to convert to the LCI style hood / kidney grilles, as my new bumper is LCI.

Currently in the booth, awaiting completion this weekend...fingers crossed:

Decided to get the fenders resprayed due to rock chips over this past year along with the new hood:

Currently a work in progress...now trying to decide what kind of wheels to get. Sort of torn between the Forgestar F14 SDC and the Avant Garde M359's...

...been pricing them out this whole week, waiting to get paid next week and probably going to bite down and make a move on something. What do you guys think?

Thanks for reading! More to come.

What brand 1m bumper is that?

Wow, lots of changes! Nice! I think the Forgestars in gunmetal would look good on your car even though usually the AG 359s are my favorite.

Re-sized!

This is the 1m Bumper I got. Mine deformed a little bit by the drivers side fender...but my painter fixed it as best he could. Given it's really a fraction of the cost of the LTMW one, I figured I would give it a go and let my painter sort it out if anything.

Thank you! I'm also leaning towards the SDC's, but something about the 359's that look really classic to me.

Thanks man, I appreciate it! I'll definitely post photos once the bumper goes on this weekend and if you're still selling, bump your thread with it.

Thank you!! Fitment was good; it's polyurethane so I guess it deformed a little upon shipping. I linked it above -- it's not bad at all given the price.

Sucks about the CF lip man! Was beautiful before! Will be even more beautiful with the new 1M front!

How was your V Style lip attached? I still need to install mine (being lazy)...

Damn that's a sweet 1M bumper.. That's really good quality/fitment/price for a 1M bumper

I would go with the Avant Garde's. Everyone I know that has gotten them has loved them.

Also, you should do a corner light delete on your headlights so the angel eyes will look cleaner.

Nice stuff so far.

If you don't mind me asking, how much have you spent out of pocket so far?

Bought that off Ebay, was about 300 shipped, I think?

Thank you! I actually used doublesided tape and rivets. Rivets are awesome, because if you'll see in the photo where the lip broke off...the part that was left over was still being held in by the rivets.

I'm definitely leaning towards the M359's -- turns out they are on back order so I'm really trying to find a shop that either has them in stock or can expedite production for me. Looking at late June for the setup I want...but I'm pretty impatient.

I'm kind of scared of the corner light delete for the headlights, I hear it's common to break the angel eyes -- I might give it a shot though eventually. I would like to get those either deleted, cleared, or gunmetal. Not sure yet.

Oh boy...I don't know if I want to know the answer to this question myself; I haven't sat down to calculate it, lol.

Definitely over 4k for the first iteration, maybe a little more. I'll have to add everything up and get a ballpark. As I'm sure you all know, modding can get costly.

I haven't gotten around to delete my corner lights (i have angel eyes too), but I know a local shop that code it out for $40. After I deleted my corner lights, I was going to black out the portion where the corner lights are on each side of the headlights. I think it would give it a clean look.

100% agree. I might have to see who can do that around here for me.
