BavAuto Ionic Purifier

Has anyone used one of those ionic purifiers that Bavarian Auto sells, or something similar?

The gf just got a used car that was unfortunetely owned by a smoker... who tried to cover it up with air fresheners. Debating one of these purifiers, or just picking up a bag of that odor-absorbing mineral at Home Depot or something.

Blast a tube of OZIUM in there and shut the door. Works pretty good.

IMHO, ozium is too strong. my preferred de-stinking technique is driving around with the windows down all day, either that or fragrance coasters because they don't leave residue.

Can I find it at like Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Depot or something?

I don't want to add another smell to the car - I want to get rid of it. Driving around is a good call, but she doesn't use her car much, and it's still 95° in Phoenix. Not exactly a nice cool fall day.

ozium can be found at target probably. i've seen it at gas stations too. but what you're describing sounds like something ozium might not be effective at treating, as it's just another air freshener. if you want to really get smoke smell out, you'll probably have to do something a bit more invasive, like steam cleaning. i'd talk to you car wash's detail manager and see what they can do. i will, however, recommend BG Frigi-Fresh to cleanse your climate control system. the stuff works well at removing odors from there.

Go with Febreze.

They even sell one for cars, Spray it in the seats, the headliner and the carpets and let it dry. Unlike most of the other stuff, this removes the smell rather than masking it.

Good idea.

Ozium is actually a neutralizer. It has worked on smoke for me in the past.

Thanks for the suggestions - think I'll swing by Target and grab some Ozium on the way home tonight, give that a shot. I also have some Lysol anti-bacterial/odor eliminator spray that I use on my muay Thai gear... I'll give that a shot as well.
