Heres a thought. A very prnounced lip, protrusion around the edge like the E46 M3 diffusers may give a nice agressive look and allow for deeper fins.

I agree these are very cool - and I could do something for the m-tech rear like this. The standard bumper just doesn't give you enough to work with

have you seen the diffusers that go on the Subaru wrx/sti or the evo's

Where the fins are basically under the bumper ? Almost like the pics of that e46 m3.

cool and all, but that requires cutting your bumper. no way a slap on diffuser is going to look like that

If this look could be obtained I would gladly hack my stock bumper!

Yup - that's exactly right.

Far more demand from those who don't want to hack

Sorry I've been a bit absent guys. Will have an update on Monday. Haven't had a chance to get to the moulders this week. But what you can expect is some pics of what the fins are going to look like as well as a dual opening version for a quad setup. Perhaps not the final pieces, but at least the patterns for the moulds.

Will update first thing on Monday morning!

Teaser pic - single side opening with fins!

This is the pattern that's being made for the mould. Will probably have something more to show you on Friday. Questions / comments? I think it looks much better than my rendering

Klove and the gang interested in one with a straighter cut to more closely match the lines of the bumper - will also have an update on Friday...

Thanks for the update! Definitely interested as this progresses.

It may look better with 4 fins, but I'm also working on a mould for a second opening on the other side for a quad setup, and am reusing mould components. The 3 fins fit nicely inside the two openings, so that's why I'm sticking with 3.

With regard to when it'll be ready. I'd say all 4 will be 100% ready within the next month or two. Will update as and when each one becomes available.

Wow!!! I'm so happy I came across this thread! I've been thinking that someone needs to come up with this solution and here it is in the works! BIG ups to Irg5 for tackling this. I can't wait for the finished product! Would love to spring for an Mtech rear w/diffuser but that is a pricey mod. Really hoping this option stays within a reasonable range.

Assuming fitment is spot on, price is reasonable...add me to the list! Keep up the good work. Subscribed

Thanks I think it looks great with the fins. Will this diffuser still have lip around the outside and around the exhaust cut outs?

Unfortunately not guys. The cost would be too prohibitive unfortunately I'd have loved to have it made with the lip as well, but after doing the sums, it just doesn't make sense.

I think what I'm working on now is a good compromise though... Sorry...

1. non-335 single exhaust cutout (standard)
2. non-335 exhaust cutouts on both sides
3. 335 dual exhaust (standard)
4. 335 quad exhaust

Note: For options 2 and 4 there will be some cutting of the bumper required in order to make way for the second set of tips on the other side (non-335) or quad tips in the same place (335).

Further complication comes in due to the fact that the bumper shape on the pre-LCI is different to the LCI shape. If I am to do this there is a relatively significant outlay in terms of moulding and so I would probably limit it (for now perhaps) to one or the other - pre-LCI or LCI.

I quite like a design with fins and so I'd probably design it to protrude backwards from the rear of the car slightly to incorporate a concave section and fins. As for the spacing of the fins I've done a bit of experimenting in photoshop and put together a trace of all the bumper styles mentioned above and then played around with the spacing of the fins and come up with the pic attached as a VERY basic idea of what it would look like.

So there are a couple polls that I need to conduct but don't want to start a new thread as people are probably already subscribed to this one. So I'll track it on my side in a spreadsheet or something like that but please reply and answer the following questions which will help me get an idea of the demand for each of the designs. Bear in mind that I will most likely end up making all four designs - I just want to prioritise which one gets made first etc.

1. Pre-LCI or LCI?
2. Type (pick from the 4 options mentioned above)
3. Design (fins / no fins / any ideas of other styling options)

Like I say if I get a good enough response I'll get working on it as soon as the m-sport / m-tech diffuser that I'm working on is done.

And just to be 100% clear, this will be a part that overlays the stock rear bumper and will not require an m-tech rear.
I have these guys . Email me. I need a test fit in the San Diego area!
