I called the 800 number early (6:15 am) this morning and had the automated system look up my production number. The car was completed on 11/29/05, and the system now says "your car was released and is now waiting to be picked up for delivery to a port of exit." So it's still waiting to be taken to port?

I think that is correct, waiting to get to the port. My message on the 800 line states "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel". Has been there all week. I am checking with my dealer this morning, I'm told they have the most current info.

My 3 is on the water as of yesterday. Calling the dealer is the way to go, 800# still says the car is at the port awaiting a boat. Dealer said the boat is due in port at New Jersey on 12/19 (with a 6+ day variance based on the seas). He said BMW is motivated to get the cars out of the port so they don't pay year end taxes on them and that there is a good chance I may have by Christmas. SWEET! A BMW under the tree... way better then that Red Rider BB GUN!

Sent you a pm Moondog. Basically, couldnt get in touch with my dealer. What does the variance mean? Could that be a 6 day swing for the better or worse? Or either?

I picked up this tracking site from another post (thanks kscha). AISLIVE.com You need to register as a public user first... from what I can tell there is no search function, you have to have an idea of where you vessel is. Site states locations are within an hour of real time. I found my ship the INGOLSTADT of the UK South Coast. Cool!

Thanks for the info Moondog. Unfortunately, my dealer doesn't want to call me back. The guy is starting to piss me off. I left him two messages and no call back. And he's not in tomorrow so the next message I leave is going to be that I don't want the car anymore, then we'll see how fast he calls me back. Anyway, I can only assume I'm on that same ship but I want a confirmation. The 800 number still has me awaiting a vessel. Not the end of the world, it's just the principal, you know.

My car is officially "En Route"....finally. How can I find out what boat it's on without any info from the dealer? I need to get an idea when this baby is hitting the US.

Man, my car arrived at the port on 12/1/05 and still sits at the port (according to my dealer). It's been a week, and it's a priority one shipment. Hope it gets loaded on soon.
