Go watch "The Culture High" if you still think the prohibition is great for humanity and then we can discuss it.

Listen, don't get me wrong on this. I could care less if someone wants to smoke some weed. So long as its verified that its not supporting some narco-terrorist state, smoke away...it's your body.

I just think its ridiculous when people of a certain cloth try to portray marijuana use as beneficial or harm-free, while at the same time spending millions of $ on anti-tobacco campaigns.

Smoking, whether its tobacco or weed, is not good for your health, especially your lungs. So long as people understand that, I agree, it should be an individual's choice to partake or not.

I was a heavy weed smoker for 17 years of my life, from 16 until 33. I love weed, I love smoking weed, I love the chilled feeling of being stoned, I basically love almost everything about weed. My attitude wasn't so great though, I had a short fuse and was very arrogant about my views and opinions, plus it made me very lazy. I stopped smoking due to my daughter being born, i went cold turkey, It was hard, I had constant thoughts of having a joint for 9 months, the slightest bit of stress in my life and i wanted a smoke.

Since quitting i seem to be a lot more chilled out with life. I have more energy. sleeping is not so good, I lay awake most nights. But the biggest effect i can see in myself from long term weed smoking is my short term memory. I cant remember shit, which really does annoy me. Everything has to be written down, I have list upon list.

Despite all of that i still miss weed. What i've done for the last 4-5 years is once or twice a year, jump on a flight to Amsterdam, 3 days, 2 nights and get hammered. Thats seems to satisfy my needs.

I hear you. I've been smoking for a good 16 years now but I wouldn't consider myself a pothead. Just a casual one with a buddy maybe once a week and talk about nonsense. It's either that or drink and we all know what drinking is all about. I do feel that my short term memory isn't that great especially with names but it doesn't really affect my day to day as a business owner, husband and a father.

I wouldn't say that I love weed but I do prefer it over drinking as I get older and hangovers tend to last 1-2 days. What I do love are the conversations that takes place and the sudden appreciation of small things around us when I'm smoking with a friend or two. Mix it up with a couple shots of vodka and the night is as good as it can get.

Hit up a fatty last night and will probably spark another one tonight.

I heard Marijuana has medicinal use such as a treatment for chronic pain. However, There's still a health risk.

Yes , today the law just got approved by the senate, it's not perfect but much better than the ongoing prohibition.

He's not opposed to it, he supports the idea. It's the "bought-by-pharma" political parties that need the push, from a Federal level, that are the real issue.

If you want to smoke, smoke. I'm tired of the debate which is non-sensical and based on flawed/outdated/hysterical data by our government officials whom I only see trying to protect the prison and cigarette industries. The gateway drug argument is BS as well. Alcohol is far worse as a public health threat in my opinion but again, politicians gotta have their bourbon and be able to afford nice trips, paid for by lobbyists and the taxes from alcohol sales. It's all about money in the end, they could give a -hit about the public's health. The opioid crisis is only getting their attention now because of the deaths, giving their drug company buddies a bad black eye.... Obviously drugs like heroin, LSD, etc are in a different category and should remain verboten...
I actually would prefer it be legalized and regulated in a sense so that you know what chemicals are being used during the grow. Who knows what kind of crap some of these idiots are throwing in the mix... Visiting a dispensary in Colorado was a game changer. Not to feel like a criminal, to be able to "shop" based on your mood and see what is in the bottle.

Title is incorrect, author probably high. Marijuana should be 100% legal and can be great fun recreationally and there is evidence it slightly increases your verbal IQ with once a week smoking. But, it's not good for your health, even vaporized. It shrinks your hippocampus and does increase certain neurotic tendencies. Not to mention the effects on your working memory, which it greatly diminishes whether you feel that way after taking the drug or not. Perception fools all.

But re the verbal IQ thing, really, who smokes weed once a week? Fuck that, go whole hog or nothing. I know I did.
