Where can I order the door lock cover thing?
I've seen someone with a cover for the key hole on the driver side door latch. Where can I order this? thanks. I assume these are color specific? Does it just go right over the section with the key hole?

If you are looking for a complete cover try www.Bimmian.com. If you want just the small plug for the metal key area try www.BumperPlugs.com.

Wow wanting to cover up that little hole is pretty anal. No pun intended.

You are screwed
It replaces the stock cover with the hole for key - lock cylinder needs to be removed first - there is a torx bolt holding it in from behind the inside door jamb. If battery dead - only way to get it off from outside is to bust/pry it off - which is more than likely what a thief would simply do if they wanted acces to key lock to break in... My cars black so I put a piece of gloss black vinyl cut to it's size in there. Now it's "deleted" and when I need it I can just peel off the vinyl.

Yeah I was wondering about the battery dying issue & getting into the car also, but the only stock pieces I can find (with the keyhole cutout) are primer and not painted to match.
Like someone else said you could always go in through the trunk i guess. |

Which would work if you have a key hole in your trunk + fold down seats - but not all years have the trunk key & not all have fold down seats...

I don't think I can be able to fix it anyways, unless I replace the whole damn thing which I don't plan on doing. |

lol this thread is from 2008. It's not a plastic piece its actually a new assembly that you replace the existing one with. Looks much cleaner for those who show the car. Little details guys..little details

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but there’s not much info on this - I can confirm you can use a rear door lock blank to replace the front door lock. I’ve replaced mine now and routed an external charge plug to underneath the car from the battery Incase my battery is ever flat. Really easy to fit, takes 5 mins.
