Honestly, I have no idea what brand the cable is. I got it off of eBay a few years ago. I use the same cable for connecting MHD and xHP and they both connect and work just fine flashing the DME/TCU.

Is there a chance that it still might be the wrong cable? Would MHD and xHP work with the same cable that INPA won't work with?

I would thing that if it connects with one software...it should connect to all of them. I do use my phone for MHD and xHP...and put a micro USB adapter on the end of the cable....and when I try to connect with INPA using my laptop...I use the standard USB plug on the end of the cable .

Setting up ISTA, etc. is a PIA, I could never get it to work properly, that is why I just had a guy do it, easy as pie.

I have no errors, or any other faults popping up. Very frustrating.
The most common installation error is not incorrect com port setting; it’s forgetting to set the latency to 1ms

If you have a 335 with a tune try your setup on another non modified
car before you blame the setup. "Sanity Test"

I finally got it!! I deleted all of the files off of my laptop, and started from scratch. The time I used the files off of Bimmergeeks.com. The install went great, and INPA connects perfectly to the car now! Thanks god!!! I can finally code in new injectors, and the battery!!

On my 3/2007 build model, pin #7 is the K-line, and that is what you need to connect with to "light the circles" in INPA. So my SWAG is that your cable is NOT connecting to the BUS as YOUR vehicle OBD II Socket is wired.

I have an 06 325i and when using the BG cable I also need the switch on the right. My E85/E46 need it switched to the left in order to communicate with the car.
