I have a confession to make. I thought I finalized my order last week, 325, Sport Package, Sparkling Graphite, black leatherette, and aluminum trim. Now I'm thinking of changing the color.
I made the decision when I saw SG in the show room floor, love at at first sight. Now that I have been seing an SG E90 near where I work, during full daylight, I'm starting to have doubts. Now thinking about changing to the classic Titanium Silver. I only have a couple more weeks before production starts so I have to make my decision soon. I heard there's a TS E90 in a dealer nearby so I'll check it out by this weekend. The problem is that I would like to see it on the road during full daylight to make a fair comparison. Does anybody else go through this? It seems that I always go through it while waiting for an "ordered" car. |

Funny, you should ask this. I changed my mind at the last minute. I was orginally going for TiAG, then when i test drove that 330i in Black Sapphire. I was overcome by the beauty of the colour, and ordered it in that colour, but after having weighed up some pros and cons of black, I decided that TiAg was the best choice to begin with. I changed it within a day to spare before it went into production. I did consider SG to start off with as it is the main colour for marketing purposes, but in fairness the colour on the ads does not reflect the true colour in broad daylight. That's why Sg never really made my shortlist. I always had doubts about it. I'd say that TiAg or Black are the colours to go for. Just My opinon though.

I've seen the e90 in silver and I don't think light colors suit the design as well as darker colors. That said it still looked good and I considered it. I currently have an e46 325i in jet black and I love it, but I think metallic colors show off the lines of the e90 better. In the end I went with Sparkling Graphite and don't feel any remorse. I considered Electric Red, but I didn't think I could live with a car that bright. My car finished production on April 7 and is now on the boat ride over.

i dont think anyone can deny the fact that SG is a very nice color..Ive seen plenty of them here, and all the stuff about the "purple" resemblence although somewhat true, doesnt hurt the color at all..Honestly, the only thing bad about it is the amount of people getting it...I just think I have a complex about ordering any other color except Met (Sapp) Blk..Its just SUCH a mean color, especially on Bimmers ...My old Civic, Accord, E36, E46 and now the E90..3 coats of Zaino, and any worries about dirt showing up go straight out the window...

I too had my mind made up with Saphire from the beginning. It's just so bad looking on the E90! As I've never used Zaino, I was wondering how soon to apply it and, how easy it is to apply. I've been driving a VW Golf for the last 8+years so, needless to say....I'm chomping at the bit for my E90. It's en route and I'm hoping for the second week in May...

You can track the shipment...
BMWAustin,
You can track the shipment if you have your VIN number at this site: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do Select Track by Auto Cargo, then use your VIN as the Cargo ID. My car is going to NY, NY port which I imagine will be the first stop??? |

C,mon JW!! Everytime a new photo thread pops up, I start rethinking my position! Not about color of course, but this time its the wheels. This is the first time Ive actually seen decent photos of the Type 161's. They are sweet! I was so settled with the 162's, but the 161's definitealy give it a sharp look..Uh oh, back to the drawing board ...Luckily it is one of those things you can change after the fact...
