"Rear differential is seeping fluid near right drive flange"

This was noted on my most recent service invoice. Looking at RealOEM:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_1250

Is #13 and #14 the ones that need replacement? Is this a hard DIY? The service advisor told me it's not bad....should I just leave it and check the oil levels/change the oil more often?

I found this via a google search - sounds like the dealer just replaces the whole diff?

Diff leaks like that look far worse than they really are. Over tens of thousands of miles you'll not loose much fluid.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

When was the last time you changed the gear oil? After time the lube will start breaking down getting thinner and thinner causing some seepage.
