Rough idle/ shut off by itself

I have 2011 335i xdrive N55 with 60,5xx miles.

Last Dec, ZNM installed vrsf catless DP, new plugs (ngk ) , New coils , and walnut blast was done as well. I already had vrsf chargepipe installed prior to znm.
Then i flashed it with MHD stage 2.

I felt the difference (power wise) and the car ran fine without any issues.it is my DD and I never track/race. I tried it once against my coworker hahaha..

Over past month or so, i notice during the start up that the idle is rough(up and down), car is shaking. Car shut off by itself 3 times. Twice on the stop light which i came from the highwway and once in front of a store which I haven’t even put the car in park.

I dont get any codes from mhd.

Where do i start to check the issue?

Take some logs and post them. Could be your fuel pump but easiest way to find out is look at the data.

Had the same issue on my 2008 328xi. Rough idle and shaking on startup, car shut off and started after the 3rd time occasionally.

Turned out to be the Eccentric Shaft Sensor. After replacement the problem was gone.

I'd check the car codes, if its P1017, the sensor is definetly the culprit.

Good luck!

I had this happen after I took off the oil cap while the engine was running to look at something.

I reset the throttle adaptations in MHD and the issue went away.

where is the Eccentric Shaft Sensor in the N55 engine? can you see it from the outside? or do you need to remove the entire valve cover?

It is integrated with the servo motor. Valve cover comes off.
