Hi All,

I was wondering if there where any guides on removing the rocker cover on the M57n2 Engine? I've took the Intake Manifold off before so I'm okay up until that point.

Also, would a rocker cover gasket set such as "Febi" (fleabay) or "Elring" (eurocarparts) be okay? I haven't inquired at the stealership yet, but given the prices they gave me for the Intake Manifold gaskets I reckon there price will be extortionate.

with the Rocker Cover removed, I could check for play in the upper timing chain but is there anything else I can look for while it's off? Is it possible to check if the valve stem seals are passing oil? or is it possible to check the Hydraulic Lifters which cause the famous ticking sound?

I never did mate, hit a kurb in the snow so ended up spending ages on that and then the front spring snapped from being left on an axle stand for so long so had to replace that as well haha. I will get around to doing it at some stage but check this out anyway:

If you've not already removed the rocker cover could you take some pictures and possibly do a small write-up of the procedure?
