Any reason not to get a cheap $100 ebay charge pipe?
It comes with a fake Tial bov which I can swap out but overall, pretty simple device, not much going on mechanically. I should be ok with an eBay one, right?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/TURBO-CHARG...53.m1438.l2649 Thanks

Potential for leak, poor fitment and poor function. Get what you pay for. (and no it's just cause I'm a vendor, we had plenty of customers buy that exact same pipe and end up returning it for the good ones).

jeff is right, bad fitment can be a pain. most of the time the fix to get it right costs you more than what the vendor was charging you originally. They have put that price out there for a reason, its not only because they like money, its bc they took the time, energy, and resources to make it the easiest for you possible and if you did it yourself you would find out it was at that price. they make money because they can buy in bulk and make a profit off the difference they are not all out to screw you in price

I would honestly go with a tried and true brand. I tried to go this route and ordered a ebay charge pipe and knock off Tial BOV. When I went to install it, it was a mess. Did not line up properly, horrible welds, on top of where the map sensor goes the hole was way to big and would have created a massive vacuum/boost leak. In order to remedy it I would have had to use a ton or silicone or gasket maker etc which would than have the potential or being sucked into the engine, or even simply pushed out of the hole under boost. I returned the pipe and will be ordering a name brand unit, with no worries as to function or fitment.

I've been using a "CXRacing" branded charge pipe for more than a year now holding 20+ psi.
The only issues I had is that the silicone elbow was about an inch too long on the intercooler side and had to be trimmed back, and the snap ring doesn't really set into the grooves the way the stock charge pipe does. I swapped out the crap BOV for a real Tial Q and used better quality clamps on the silicone elbow, other than that I had no fitment issues. Fits to the throttle body snug and TMAP sensor mounted up fine. But for $70 more you get a much better part with zero finagling. |

poor fitment, having it pop off, and extra time out of your life adjusting it when it happens, not
Worth it.

BMS and ARM have them for ~$130 if you are just going to get the Tial Q separately. Might as well get a cheap one from a reputable vendor in case you run into fitment issues. No reason to pay more for than that though. My "superior" VRSF one didn't fit perfectly.

Just spend the extra 30 bucks for a known good one, there is another thread today guy got eBay one didn’t fit intake at all and he cut the flange off and paid to have it expanded and for a coupler to make it work all for more money more work in the end.

Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it has to be poor quality:
The problem with eBay stuff it’s usually a copy of a copy of a copy and each time they copy it things get miss aligned or out of spec. Mike |

The Cobb charge pipe has great fitment for the N54. They revised their charge pipe in April 17. If you are worried about getting an older version, then order directly from them.
https://www.cobbtuning.com/products/...ck-charge-pipe $195.00 will get you a charge pipe that absolutely fits and is of high quality. |

Also if you are looking into meth injection, it might be best going with a more known brand with meth inputs (I think thats what they are called) that are placed in a good location and are made to fit.

Mount? Also which custom tuner did you go with as well? Are you happy with the end results? I'm going with a bottom mount gtx3582r. That's good to know. 32psi holds like a champ, I assume you have a built n54 motor? Have you taken your car a Dyno shop to see how much power you're putting down? |

Thanks guys. I think I know what to do.
This is my second go with mods btw. I sold my last car with all the mods and I have the itch to mod again with this car.

Cheap pipes will normally not fit flush causing a leak / loss of power and worst case scenario they the pipe fails.
VRSF is the most proven pipe and is currently on Black Friday sale
