In support of @DesertDude here is a video of a 2013 335is DCT displaying the "Sport Traction" .

Again, I will ask the question one more time to confirm. Those of you not seeing "Traction" displayed are you running a piggyback (not in pass through mode) on your DCT 335is car ?

No piggyback here. Just running a COBB PTF tune but the display setup is different on the dash. Pushing spot shows the word "sport" on the dash but a single push of the DTC button is indicated by a warning triangle. My car is a midyear 2011 build.

Pops up the question if it would be possible to flash a N54 DCT car to IS firmware.
I have programmed some mini's to add the sports button, this was quite simple, but Im wondering if we could flash a N54 DCT spec car with all IS firmware (DME, DCT etc)

Any ideas?

I am not able to make sense out of all this why some cars are able to and others aren't. Production year and ROM seems to be not the issue. The ROM updates go as follows:

  1. IJC0S IS
  2. IJE0S IS
  3. IKB0S IS
  4. IKC0S IS
  5. ILA0S IS

From the factory my car came with the IKB0S_IS ROM, then to IKC0S_IS > ILAOS_IS per dealer update as they became available . All these ROMs I had all displayed the "Sport Traction" feature

Having iDrive or not is not the issue either. So I am wondering if the difference may have anything to do with the factory assembly locations they came from ie different assembly locations had different components. IDK, but would like to know why the variance.

The scenario regardless should be applied to any N54 DCT car though even if yours is a variant of how to reduce slippage with your DCT

Edit: Another thing also came to mind, my car was not pre-ordered.

Don't think it's a software thing. It has to be just different display templates. The indicators are just lighted so what you have is what you have unless you swap it for another template. I believe the functionality is the same.

Thats what it seems to be, a "variant dash display" depending on what assembly location it came out of I assume.

Also, the letters DTC (button) vs the Traction Control "icon" (button), should all be the same with same function.

your dash icon is defined within the firmware of the dashboard/clocks/cockpit (Forgot the controller name). This can be noticed when a car from 07 gets updated to the latest software, the icon for DTC did change... So this is probably the same.

Came across this kit at ecs tuning...

http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E92-335...Dct/ES2677651/

Has anyone considered servicing DCT yet? Mine is approaching 40k miles, 10 of which running Cobb aggressive tune and burning clutch a few times.. If anyone has done this service, what are the appropriate drain and refill steps?

Thanks!

Yup, that would be me. Transmission is starting to seep oil in the sealing, not actually leaking yet, so I am going to need new new sealing + what you posted.

I got 56k miles of hard driving and I mean extreme hard driving

Please post a DIY if you choose to do this yourself...

Happy new year all!

I've been running RB turbos on a 50/50 e85 mix with FBO's for about a year now, roughly 10k miles. I am running a Procede rev3 v5 and OFT backend flash, tuned by Shiv himself, and get quite a bit of clutch slippage at WOT deep into 4th gear and in any gear above. I've talked to a few of the other 335is owners on here and they attribute this to my DME not seeing true TQ values due to the piggy tune. I purchased the car new and it currently has 22k miles on it. It's been launched no more than 10x and has never seen the track and so I rule out abuse as the cause. I'm going to be switching back to COBB with a ProTune next week. Fingers crossed.

On a different note, I have yet to launch the car since the RB turbos and switch to e85... I fear that I'll destroy my transmission. Any thoughts?

2013 135i n55 DCT w PURE turbo upgrade. Started experiencing what feels to be clutch slippage. I too am running piggyback and my DME is not crack able do to new stupid NSA encryption. Buddy has similar setup with the backend flash stacked w jb4 and his bangs into gears. My logs are weird tho as the throttle body is being closed? Does the TCu see slippage and talk to the DME to chop throttle? It's odd.

Does anyone know if I have any options here? I need to tell or force the TCu to see full max load!

any wheel spins? if not, with the erratic rpms that you got on that graph, the DCT is definitely slipping.

Nope cause it think its running a load to torque that its not, so it will pull timing to compensate for the overheating tranmission due to slippage. Sometimes it happens so fast there is no time for the DME to "figure out" what going on the next thing your know your engine is blown.

I couldn't find much on RB's with DCT either, only done 5000kms and so far all is good.
