Has there been any progress on this? I have a 2009 bmw 335i and got hit in the rear bumper back in january, and needed a new bumper and that was the only time its been in the dealers. I'm guessing that they do a forced update everytime it goes in the dealer?

So far i have been able to get the mirrors to fold in, windows to roll down and top to go down. When holding the lock key i can get the windows to roll up, but not the top.

I'm just wondering if anyone found anything new on this? I'm sure the code is in there somewhere. Has anyone looked into this since last year?

I know this is probably strange since your really the only one we have ever seen get this working. Are you the original owner of the car? If not, want to check for a mod box lol. I found the smart top instructions and its so simple and hides away. If you bought it used, maybe by some fluke you already got it lol. Just curious.

I was also thinking that since we cant do it by software, and the CAS modules firmware is preventing it maybe we can take a look at the wires and connect the top closure wire to say the locks. That way when we hold the lock button it would also deliver the code to close the top.

Only issue i can see with this is the windows. If you have it setup for the windows to go up then the windows would be up when the top closes which could be bad. If we added a long delay, or removed that feature i could see it working.

Its such a shame because we have every other feature the smart top provides programed and working except for the top closing. I'd rather not spend $400 just to have a closing feature. I'm not that lazy. LOL.

I have an 08 e93 with CA and have coded the mirrors to fold close by holding the key fob. I make quick trips with the top down and windows up (please don't flame me) and want the mirrors to fold upon locking without impacting the windows and top operation. Is this possible? Right now the locking of the car triggers the mirrors to close but the top also starts to close.

So the operation I want is:

Press the keyfob and the doors lock and mirrors fold. Hold the key fob longer and the top closes.

PS - Love this forum as I learned all I needed to code the car as I like!

Nothing can be done unfortunately...Your software is too new, the Cas module specifically...

This is all that I changed to get it working plus making Speigel_komfort_einklapp from the NFRM module to aktiv
Hopefully some people can take advantage of it. Good luck as I hope some of the lucky guys get it working because its so sweet to have the top open and close with the fob and not having comfort access!

I'm looking at the cafd for the CVM module for the F33/F23 and I can't find any of those parameters that are listed on this thread.

I have a 2015 F23 softop without comfort access and I'm trying to figure out how to get the top to close/open with the key fob.

I think my only option at this point is to add 322 to my FA and VO code CVM in conjunction with the FDL options to have my windows and mirrors close/fold.

You probably want to post in the F chassis forums, we E90 folk mostly have no clue what does or doesn't transfer over.

caue i know in my dads 435 i can change the chime on and off in the iDrive, so maybe i can do that in a 2011 328?

I’ve been searching for days trying to find a way to do this with non comfort access 2009 E93, but I have the Carly for BMW WiFi OBD scanner. It does code, but I guess they’ve set their app up to be user friendly and it doesn’t show the actual code lines.

Does anyone know how to translate this to the Carly app?

Aloha Harry! What island are you on? I lived on Oahu for 7 years.

Not familiar with the Carly app, but can certainly be done with NCS Expert and a KDCAN cable.

For anyone still following this in 2018 - I just did this on a 2009 335i WITH CA and it works to bring the top down and back up with the key! I set all of the things as mentioned by the first post and it worked. My mirrors fold too on lock/unlock.

My only issue is now a finicky trunk partition hall sensor. It doesn't work half the time making my top not always go down with the key. Is this common?

Also, does anyone know if it is possible to lower/raise the windows/top by just using comfort access (aka holding the door handle or placing a finger on the ridges?)

Tried this today following the instructions at the beginning of the thread and got this to work on my 2008 E93 328i without comfort access. Opening and closing the roof works perfectly as well as mirrors and windows. I had first followed instructions from a different thread which caused the windows to stay down after roof closed.
