Has anyone ever tried replacing their adaptive headlight (H3 if I recall) for something a little whiter?

i have. are u talking bout the cornering lights ? those are the ones that are h3 size. its very straight forward to do. just need to make sure that the bulbs are 35w otherwise it will throw a code. i have mtec branded ones and they throw no codes.

I think we are talking about the same thing. I cant seem to find any DIY or a visible way to access from under the hood. How did you go about changing them?

you can access it from under the hood. the cornering lights are the easiest to get access to.

this video is not for the cornering lights but you can see how to get access to them in the video. skip to 8.17 to open that black panel. at 8.23, you can clearly see a white cable that leads to the front of the headlights. that cable is the one that is connected to your cornering bulbs. the bulb is held in by clips. if you want, i can do the install for you. its literally a 5 min job. just drop by my place downtown.

I had changed my H8 fogs and angel eyes for MTECHs. F'ing biggest pain in the arse I have ever had for changing light bulbs. And changing D1S ... Forget it. Shame on you BMW.

lol... yea but those bulbs are the harder ones to change. the H3s are the easiest to change out of all of them. the H8s were a pain, could barely get my hand into that hole... i dont have fogs so i dont know bout those but the D1S bulbs arent easy either (hence why i still havent changed mine).

Fogs are trivial - need to open up the wheel liner (don't have to take it off, can just undo a few screws), reach inside and twist. NOTHING LIKE drls.

Naw. On the E92 you have to bend the flaggenhaus out of the liner and you can barely get your hand in there. Failed to launch. I'll give it another shot in the spring when I do my wifes cars H8s and H3.
